No Post-Game.
No way to refight bosses.

No good sequels.

it ends

>3Dshit
>Not superior hadcrafted pixelart

More disappointment

...

not in 3d

too easy
too many tutorials

I need more games on my 3DS. Is dream team good? Or is it another meme?

Dream Team is solid

Like I said, no good sequels.

Great Force is too easy to obtain for something that breaks the game so badly. An inexperienced player can beat bosses in two or three turns with it casually.

Almost everything post-Woohoo University sucks.

>look at me, mah! I can meme on the 4chanz!

Complete meme. The tutorials never end, giant battles are awful, and the Bros. moves suck due to gyro controls.

youtube.com/watch?v=jFHL3l3uiow

The game was short for an RPG but this whole battle was worth it.

>being bad at gyro controls
how does it feel not having good enough hand-eye coordination to perform basic mechanical functions? I sure hope you don't drive

>everything post Woohoo university sucks

I will fight you user, the koopaling boss battles were the hypest shit

While I really liked BiS, it was way too short. It felt like it was only two-thirds as long as it should have been.

I can't remember, does Fawful ever recognize Mario and Luigi at all? Does he/she ever bring up Cackletta?

Did Fawful end up being a better villian?

GBA soundchip

Mario and Luigi SS and the Fire Emblem games are the only GBA games with good soundtracks though.

youtube.com/watch?v=Dro_RfKbfOs

The songs are good, but the GBA's soundchip is unfortunately still garbage

While I agree that the GBA's soundchip is trash, the music in the game is still great and calling the soundchip a problem is more of the hardware's fault.

I found it really boring and unfunny, honestly. Ended up dropping it after a few levels.

>I play Mario games for the humor

No Post-Game.
Joke's End wasn't terribly memorable.
Plot wore thin once Cackletta had to absorb Bowser.
Unbalanced stats (which was alleviated somewhat in the non-us version).

It definitely has some flaws and it would be silly to think otherwise, but overall it's a fantastic game and easily the best or the second best of all Mario RPG's, and probably top 3 of Mario games.

Its good at first, but gets worse as it goes on, it also last for what feels like 10 hours too long, mainly because the dream gimmick gets boring as hell, plus the fact that at the very end enemy attacks get a difficulty spike in terms of dodging and reads, especially the bosses, honestly one of the final bosses I felt just said fuck it to balancing all together, because he gets 3-5 turns for every 1 turn you get.

tl;dr overall its crap, don't bother with it.

>not playing mario RPG games for its sense of humor

Get the fuck out.

I can respect , he doesn't think it's funny, whatever, his sense of humor's shit but ok.

But why the fuck are you playing a humour focused RPG if not for the humour? It's like playing Earthbound while skipping all the text.

Are you insinuating SS is funny?

Are you insinuating you have shit taste?

it is faggot. you're not human if it didn't make you laugh

Do you even have humor?

I might be alone in this, but the reason I love SSS the most (Even though I have thoroughly enjoyed all of them) is because the map actually felt big and as a huge unknown world.

I don't mean that in a literal way, like just because its a new kingdom to explore does it feel brand new and interesting (although it does add to the experience) but the rest of the maps (even the one in Dream Team) felt small and compact, like there was not a lot to explore.

But in SSS, it feels really vast. Even if it probably is smaller than the sequel's total overworld. It just felt more alive and interesting.

Luigi is in it

lol

His entire plan hinged on Bowser inhaling everybody, including Mario, so he could take over both the Mushroom Kingdom and making Bowser's Castle a theater.

>I can't remember, does Fawful ever recognize Mario and Luigi at all?
Yes, sorta, but he doesn't really care.

>Does he/she ever bring up Cackletta?
Not by name, nor does he care about her, she was just his tool.

>Did Fawful end up being a better villian?
Neither are really great as far as villains go.

>too easy
>annoying tutorials
>minigames are hit and miss
>Stardust Fields and Jokes end both suck
That's about it. It's a really good game.

>I can't remember, does Fawful ever recognize Mario and Luigi at all?
They basically never interact.

>Does he/she ever bring up Cackletta?
No

>Did Fawful end up being a better villian?
Absolutely.

>mother 3
>sonic advance series

>no other mario and luigi games did advance bro moves

This is what makes me boil. It was fun as fuck discovering those. Also finding the better hammers like in paper mario

What 7 year old could do this?

An Ipad/phone-less one.

It's missing best girl.

What about them?
There propensity for autism?

11 year old me.
I still consider that boss to be the hardest in the series. Cackeletta in the University was also a noticeable difficulty spike compared to everything before or after.

I actually liked Jokes End

I did, as an internet less mexican kid who could kinda read english back in 2003.

Only a literal retard couldn't beat this

Nobody liked Jokes' End.

Though, I'm POSITIVE that the new Post-Boss Rush Arena is going to be called "Punch-Line" now.

8 year old me, after grinding to like Lv.42 or 43, somewhere around there.

>What about them?
>There propensity for autism?
They have great music.

I disagree.

It's nintendo's most fetish-filled series.

>>too easy
Fixed in Non-US Versions, where stats for EVERYTHING (Bros, Attacks, Enemies, Items, Gear, etc.) were rebalanced.

Everything else was pretty much spot on though. Thankfully the tutorials are almost certainly going to be skippable in the remake, which also fixes Stardust Fields.

the remakes

Why is Partners In Time so bad in everything except the final boss. Holy fuck I had such an unpleasant time.

The name is kinda part of why I liked it. The coldness and monotony sobered you for the finale. In a game that was that expressive, colorful, and comedic it stood out as being... kinda serious.

Also I didn't find the music that bad, that probably made a huge difference. It's basically a 4 second loop after all...

>at least half of the games have vore in them in some form
wew

Joke's End was copy paste in a bad way and extremely tedious compared to literally every other dungeon.

Best in the series
Just wish Bowser's special attacks were more of his boss attacks from the series

Babies make every game worse.

>Fixed in Non-US Versions, where stats for EVERYTHING (Bros, Attacks, Enemies, Items, Gear, etc.) were rebalanced.
That's pretty awesome and gives me extra hope for the remake.

I liked Joke's End.
Feel free to wrap your tongue around my penis.

Pretty much the only reason I'm looking forward to the remake.
Remixed music on a non-shit soundchip.

Fuck that, Partners In Time is the real test. I remember once spending what felt like 90 minutes on that final boss-fight before finally losing and deciding that the game is shit and not worth the time. What a decline after Superstar Saga.

I got stuck there for so long 10 years ago.

2003 is a dark year

>Drill Dozer
these too, especially Advance 3

My only problem with this was that up until the end part of the game you felt as if all your efforts were for nothing since Fawful was for some reason always one step ahead, even when he clearly shouldn't have.
Also, some of the minigames were not exactly amazing, like the carrot digestion one.

Way too short and the plot just gives up in the last third of the game. Good only for the giant Luigi battles.

You did not.

I think you'll also realize this if you ever decide to stop breathing through your mouth.

>these too, especially Advance 3

My.

Fucking.

NIGGER.

youtube.com/watch?v=N-NNMzZ3y-g

It allowed you to level up stats other than 'stache.

>Not Maxing DEF so you never have to counter

It's not really that bad. You are going to die on your first encounter with this guy like 100% of the time, but after that it's pretty reasonable to expect to survive, then you can heal up with a peanut or something.

>not maxing POW on Mario and DEF on Luigi
They complement each other so well that way.

Look at this kid I bet he put points into HP in TTYD

>not maxing BP for not only maximum but also continuous rape

Bitches you in my way

Mario with buffed POW can one-shot most enemies no problem.

I honestly do not get the hype this game gets at all. Don't get me wrong it's incredibly solid, I've beaten all the M&L games and this one has some of the best Bros Moves and it has side quests, But it's stupidly easy and has no post game what so ever.

Golden Suns, mang

>not just pumping into POW and two-shotting every boss

>Not maxing POW for Mario and 'Stache for Luigi so they both equalize their damage through raw power and criticals.

Is there a link showing the differences? I'm intrigued because it being too easy is my biggest problem with it. lol

Stupidly easy part is only because you played the US Version.

Non-US Version's stats were re-balanced properly for literally everything - Healing items were hard-nerfed, prices for items were lower for low tier mushrooms and peppers and raised for everything else, Shroom Force got nerfed the fuck out, and pretty much every enemy was altered to make it not piss-easy.

See: dropbox.com/s/beg7ugxqc5kerqq/mlss_uj_allstats.xlsx?dl=0

You're right about the no post-game which was unfortunate but will probably be fixed in the remake. The lack of challenge was just because you played the lesser version - I'd really suggest playing the Japanese or Euro version.

tcrf.net/Mario_&_Luigi:_Superstar_Saga/Regional_Differences

Tons of differences pretty much all around, but mostly enemies and items were rebalanced to introduce actual challenge.

At this point may as well just wait for the remake and play that (assuming it keeps the changes.) That actually makes it sound fairly interesting, because I remember the Cackletta fights still being difficult in the US version. But I played it a long time ago. So now I have an incentive to replay it other than getting to rejudge it and see if it's really that much better than the other games in the series. I played PiT afterword and DT much later and didn't find them particularly bad, so I never really figured out why "M&L is great, all sequels are shit" became a popular opinion.

>Final Cackletta Fight
>Whoever has the highest Speed stat gets the first turn in the international versions, but you get the first turn always regardless of Speed on the Japanese version.
FUCKING
DROPPED
Are you niggers even reading this shit?
>Queen Bean
>>JP: 100 HP
>>EN: 120 HP
>**Cackletta
>>JP: 800
>>EN: 1200
The bosses are clearly easier in the Japanese version.

It takes way too long to get going imo.

The "tutorial" section and the first portion of the game is super fucking boring.

It isn't so much that the sequels are shit, it's just that they aren't as good, but they're still solid games.

The remake will probably be using the corrected stats, include a boss rush, and make the tutorials skippable - which solves every problem save for Joke's End (and they'll hopefully have more than just a 4 second loop of music which would even make it bearable).

inferior combat system to the first two PM games + SM RPG.

You realize that's the ONLY boss that got lowered HP?

Trunkle went from 110 to 180 and heals more, and the Koopalings all had huge jumps (fucking Roy from 550 to 920).

Healing items also got decreased in effectiveness, fucking Max Mushrooms went from 120 to 75 and their cost jump up by 100 G.

The changed stats were there for a reason though, because SSS was pretty easy to the point where longer fights just dragged on until you started abusing Shroom pants.

The problem was Cackletta was a genuine difficulty spike so she ended up with jacked up HP just like the Shroob Princess.

Joke's End is a pretty big fuckin flaw

That's pretty much what I said - did you quote wrong?

You did hit the Cackletta / Shroob HP Problem on the nose though.

What's wrong with Joke's End?

Shittastic "music", repetitive areas and platforming, the worst NPC in the game, and overall just a boring final area.

Everything else is fantastic, but Joke's End really isn't a high point.

youtube.com/watch?v=0ppA9Y8AmHM

Imagine listening to this during a 15 minute long badly designed dungeon.

Switching between Mario and Luigi is on the fucking Start button instead of Select, meaning I have to stretch my thumb over to the middle of the controller to switch characters instead of just being able to tap X or Y when playing it on a Gameboy Player.

I really liked Joke's End. It was clearly a gigantic fuck you to the player if you weren't leveled up enough or knew how to properly avoid enemies. The music was appropriately eerie and wasn't intrusive at all for me. The platforming I do not remember too well, but nothing sticks out as bad.
