I just got this game for dirt cheap, what am i in for?

I just got this game for dirt cheap, what am i in for?

piss easy combat

Fun initial 60 minutes then boredom and repetition for 10 hours afterward.

A good first half of a game and a weak second half. It's a shame the sequel is doubling-down on the second half.

Batman Creed

Got it a few weeks ago, I can't even finish the first region because it's so fucking boring and repetitive.

Even war in the north was better than this shit.

batman the orc slayer

I guess I would enjoy the actual gameplay, but my autism will simply not allow me to play something that shits over Tolkien's work that badly. It's disgusting.

QTE final boss.
I ain't joking.

So how much fun is this "orc" mechanic i keep hearing about?

Is it actually fun and interesting?

I enjoyed it. Managed to get about 35 hours out of it, including doing the dlc campaigns.

Assassins Shadow of Morder Creed: Batman Repetitive Combat: The Game.

First half is fun, when you get to the fields, it gets repetitive and annoying.

I fucking hated Archers or Spear throwers in this game, it's really fucking stupid when you have 30+ Melee Orcs around you, and then an archer pokes you. Pray they don't have Poison or Bleed.

Or how you can't mid-combat finish something because the Orcs will always interrupt your 5-minute Kill animation. So you're hammering X the entire time before you have to hit Y to block a fucking potshot.

So yeah. It's fun, but it's also stupid as fuck and is going to rustle your jimmies.

>mfw remembering that moment now
I have no idea how this game could be so good at design side and so bad at gameplay side. These fuckers nailed orcs so well, but then completely fucked up fighting mechanics.

And next one looks like design goes even further while combat system is still as bad as previous "I am doing it with my monitor turned off" part. What a shame. But I will still give it a try after buying it on piratebay

It's a really good mechanic, but I'm too lazy to use the different techniques required to beat it. I just wanna mash.

Is batman combat the worst in current AAA games or is it just me? Mordor has some neat stuff but 75% of the game looks like muddy shit and 100% of hand to hand combat is brain numbing

No, it is not just you. Say thx to consoles and imbeciles with their controllers.

Funny part - batman at least gives you a variety of tools to deal with foes so you don't need to engage a lot of mashfights, while Shadow of Mordor gives you no tools but mashing and some archering while multiplying enemies by 10.

To be fare to Mordor, you can do a lot of stuff before getting into the shit puddle of hand to hand combat. Riding around, shooting fires, setting up shit is fun but at some point your gonna have to do the hand to hand fighting and esp towards the end when enemies have huge health pools it becomes a fucking chore. I really don't think I can do another game with that style of fighting

I have it but still haven't played it. Looks... boring.

the best game of 2014... it was a really bad year when this weak 8/10 was GOTY

a persona action game

A shit story with fun gameplay. The orc shit is a blast though I love seeing some faggot get uglier and uglier until he wears a bag on his head.

>8/10
We're not on a gaming journalism site.
It means 6/10

I would personally give Alien Isolation GOTY '14, but it really is a sad year when the three best games are licensed (Alien, Mordor, South Park).

This...

This is going to sound retarded, but outside of missions don't try to play well. Most of the fun comes from dealing with captains, but they die easily in the first place and you get a whole lot of tools to make them trivial. Getting yourself killed is actually a good thing in this game, but it doesn't try nearly hard enough to kill you.

Dirt

a qte boss fight

Quality and polish that japanese games will never reach.

It ends sooner than you think
Lots of pointless fluff

Agreed. The best way to die is to just let them pile up on you. Eventually some asshole spear throwers and archers you don't see will spawn and push your shit in.
Maxed out poison spear wielding captains are easily the most difficult enemies the game has to offer.

Derivative and mindless fun. Don't be afraid to just run into a huge pile of orcs and die every once in awhile.

for 5 bucks it's a steal. got about 50 hours of playtime out of it

Think if this was cannon and that the ranger and his orc armies came to the aid of gondor when the oliphants arrived. And have the orcs deliver line similar to "we may all be violent and ugly, but not all of us want war".

One of the easiest game you've ever played and a terrible story

This, I personally let like half the orcs I fought and didn't mind control live just to see how much I fucked them up. I can't wait to try it in Shadow of War.

Here's how to enjoy this game:

Start game
Play the game up to the point where it introduces you to the uruk ranking system.
Go to a tower (yes this game how tower bullshit)
Open the map screen and hit advance time roughly 7839571 times to make the uruks a challenge.
Do this about 10 times throughout the game.

I really enjoyed it. It's stupid fun. Great for taking gb hits and just tackling a few hunts here and there.

Too bad that doesn't fix the combat system being shit

just makes it so playing with the monitor turned off will let you kill about a dozen orcs, instead of several dozen

>I just got this game for dirt cheap, what am i in for?

Sure, these shoes were two sizes too small, but I got them on sale!

Or just get to the second map where everybody's a death threat away from the level 20 cap.
