Basically. In the end however I'd personally much rather chill in a /vg/ general for my game than try to discuss it in a Sup Forums thread. It's more like deciding the lesser evil, which is pretty subjective.

I think 2 was better than 1 in almost every way. The aesthetic is superb, the enemies react a lot faster, the music is excellent, and Tony's mask is even more powerful.
Those who cry about the levels being too big don't know how to press Shift.

from what little i've seen of that place it's mostly the same dozen autistic samefags just using it as a chatroom to talk with each other. Instead of doing anything productive like drawfagging or writefagging they just waifu-circlejerk and talk to each other.

When they namefags aren't around using it as a discord server everyone just post the same memes to the point you could go 50 threads back and you'd see the same exact post with the same exact picture in the same exact order. I remember the monster musume general on Sup Forums was particularly infamous of this.

I think the Hotline levels are their best when they have a lot of rooms and corridors. The AI seems to be more suited for smaller levels than big, open ones. That being said, I still prefer Hotline 2 to 1.

I love the rampage in the small corridors in 1, but I welcome the variety from the giant levels in 2. Most are extremely annoying or tiring, depending on the mask, but I don't think I would have wanted more packed rooms like in 1, especially because its too easy to A++ these levels using melee.
Anyways Hotline Miami 1 is a near perfect game, but I liked 2 because of the different approach. And the story. And the musics. And the more varied sprite work. And the characters.
