Hollow Fragment is a pretty good game in its own right, you don't need to be caring about SAO. Also has a shit ton of content (it's essentially two games since it includes the content of an older one that was never localized). Hollow Realization is alright too, it improves on most aspects but has less stuff to do. Preferably avoid Lost Song, it's completely different.

Games also starts early'ish in the SAO universe (the original "win screen" where they end up switching game never happened) and goes with its own alternate story, so it won't even match the later SAO stuff.

HF has been sadly overcasualized in updates (especially PS4 version), it used to be harder and generally more interesting to get stuff done and explore.

I have watched the series, the ovas and read all the Light Novels but I didn't pay for them.

The light novels are fucking garbage except for SAO Progressive, which is somehow really good. I'd recommend reading Progressive.
