Hot Take:

I can't watch the Trunks arc in English anymore, the original is just so much better. That was still when the Funi cast was new, so their voices were still just, ugh. So many scenes (Trunks going SSJ, the flashback to the future, etc.) are just done so much better in Japanese its unbelievable how they managed to fuck it up so badly. There are a few earlier synthy Faulconer tracks that I still have nostalgia for, but by and large it;s just a shitty dub.

Kai (with the Yamamoto score inserted back in) is the preferable way to watch English DBZ for me. The DB and GT dubs were serviceable (minus GT's American score), and even parts of the Buu arc in Z were leagues better than Freeza/Trunks because the voice actors were starting to come into their own, but I can't ever go back to watching most of Z in English.

Piccolo and Kuririn are guaranteed to appear, I suspect Tenshinhan and Yamcha as well since their movesets are unique enough to warrant them.

Where the fuck do I find Kai BD rips with Yamamoto music? I can't find any online.

There were way too many android saga scenes that were made absolutely insane with Falconer, imo. Final Flash, Trunks' ascension, Piccolo's Super Namek, etc.

Chris Sabat was a highlight for me, honestly. It might be that we just have different tastes, but he had some solid raw moments.

The movies are pretty good as well, especially the BD releases that have English Voices + Japanese Score, but the only part of the dub that sticks out that really, really bothers me is Broly's screaming/transformations in the dub. they added a -ton- of unnecessary laughing on Broly's part that was obviously meant to coincide with the, interesting, rock music. The dubs for Movies 12 & 13 are spot on though (and obviously 14 and 15 but that's Kai-era Funimation so I expect that to be good anyway.)
I'm having to make my own rips and reinsert the music myself (well, someone on Kanzenshuu made the audio files already but no video so I had to mux them into my own rips. Luckily it's only really for Seasons 3 and 4 so it's not that much work but it's tedious having to rip and convert them myself nonetheless. I would look on Kanzenshuu forums for the Yamamoto project.)
Faulconer did do moments and themes right, I agree. To add to what you posted, the scene where Yamcha gets impaled by Android 20 sticks out (I do like the theme he composed for them, very fitting.) And remember they were going for a different tone than the Japanese version too ("Awesome Action" vs "Tension + Action")
My main issue is how "new" most of the actors sound, also the voice direction was still "cartoon action hero" and direction can have a big impact on how voice actors sounds (which is why Kai and the last ~dozen episodes of Z are so good, they were handled by Sabat.)
Also, the fact that there's no silence at all, there's -always- some kind of music playing and it changes in tone far too rapidly. Again this was the direction's fault but it's extremely jarring.
Not Faulconer but I have a soft spot for the English version of Gohan's death.

Are there actually people who are only fans of Super? Like kids or others who never heard of DBZ before in their lives and their first exposure to the series was Super and so they completely started Dragon Ball with Super? That's the only way this statement could make sense.

I think the reality is that everyone who watches Super are just the same core shit-eating fanbase of DBZ twenty and thirty somethings who have been watching since the 90's and will buy anything with DBZ on the box. Saying you want to appease all generations of DBZ fans suggests there's a generation of Dragon Ball fans who only watch Super, or that Super is bringing in new fans to the series, when the reality is that the amount of new viewers to the series that Super has brought in is probably in the double digits globally.

I doubt they won't put the regulars, so the roster will look pretty similar to their 3DS game (Extreme Butouden). If they don't put base forms maybe they'll be able to put more characters.

that's basically how toriyama works though. they didn't have time to fill out goku's hair in the freeza ark, thus the super saiyan became blond. he made perfect cell lose most of his dots, as it was a pain in the ass to draw. sure, toyo draws the manga now, but I think that move is in the spirit of toriyama

I feel like Buu is where they basically nailed it with the english voices since it's the only arc I can watch fully and enjoy it from beginning to end in the dub without really being bugged by odd dub choices or questionable line readings.

Android and Cell Saga are fine, yeah dub Cell isn't Wakamoto but he's still pretty good. At least in Kai

yes and no. I don't mind the new animation, as long it's done properly. the db/z animation has a lot of nostalgia in it, though.

Considering it's Arc system work that is developing the game I can see Bulma sneaking into the main roster being a Kokonoe style character using her techs and capsules to fight only so the roster won't be such a huge sausage fest. Arc love to go nuts when it comes to fighting styles.

Black fights the same as Zamasu, he's only stronger. We may get more versions of Goku for Blue or SSG, so having another slot be used on Goku, even if he fights different, would be a waste. Zamasu would be a better choice for this reason, as his fighting style is more original.

It should make sense, that's how it's done in a bunch of games with time stop shit.
It's basically just an excuse to catch your breath for a few seconds and whip out a super powerful standing combo.
