Can someone explain why they like this game? Because I played through the first hour, and while the story seems interesting enough, the way the kids talk is completely insufferable. It's like it was written by aliens who had a vague grasp of American teen culture and lingo but had never actually met any.

I think you're idealizing her powers too much. It's pretty obvious in the game that she can't use them willy nilly. She gets nosebleeds, headaches, and causes a giant tornado just by saving one person. What is she supposed to do after realizing what her powers cause?

Jefferson managed to knock her out and could have killed her whenever he wanted to.
And then there was that nightmare sequence that really lets her have it for abusing her time travel to get the results she wanted.

Also, throwing away her award just to save Chloe was totally not worth it.

I felt the same way at first but you have to give her some credit. She learns from her mistakes near the end and even flat out offers herself to save Arcadia bay. I agree that it's a stupid decision to pick Chloe over the town but I'm glad they gave you choice anyway. It makes her death seem more personal.
I admit I'm an overly-emotional sucker, but that ending really wasn't that bad. Overall an enjoyable experience.
