Imagine being such a limpwristed weakly that you have a such a hard time separating two parts of a childs' toy that you take to complaining on a forum that's made up almost entirely of incel filth.

It has nothing to do with strength. It's the entire implementation. Sliding it on isn't really the problem, it's taking it off. First of all, you're holding these two small as fuck things with almost nothing to hold onto unless you have babby hands. Second, you have to hold down a release button while doing so, which limits your leverage. Third, the joycons have all these other buttons on them which further limits how you can hold them unless you want to break them within a few months. And finally, the material they used for the slides is apparently made of melted down sand paper.

The wrist straps that came with the switch are fucked. Mine are hard as fuck to put on too. I got the neon yellow joy cons, and those wrist straps slide on way easier and fit perfectly.

Friction stops are decent if you have a good grip to hold onto something. The wriststrap has no way to get a grip on it

There's certainly a knack, but it's really not hard to get it. It's way easier doing it sideways and pushing the wrist strap rather than pulling the control.

I find it easier to hold it towards myself to help prevent accidental drops and pulling the wrist strap, but yeah, moving the wrist strap is easier than trying to move the joycon.

You don't have to hold the release button, that's just for detaching the joy-cons from the Switch itself. You do, however, need to make sure the white lock by the strap isn't locked.
I had the same problem as you until I found out the release button does nothing to the joy-con grips.
