bethesda knows how to build a beautiful world, they're probably the best. but the elderscolls used to be classic style rpg's and now they're little more than a template for modders. the story and gameplay are utter shit. the NPC actually conform to whatever lvl you are so the whole thing is meaningless. I can't even begin to explain questing.... ok here i go.

In morrowind someone would tell you to walk south, find a river, take it to a fork, head north, dodge teh haunted tomb/ruins/dwarven bullshit and then put your nose to the ground for the cave of GlugGlug or whatever the shit. That's the kinda stuff i'm after, that's immersion, that's what gets me sucked the fuck into an imaginary world, k?
Skyrim doesn't play that shit. skyrim replace a short elegant written story with shoddy voice acting of some problem you couldn't possibly care about and a literal arrow on your screen the entire time, guiding you to the end where another live or two of thanks still won't make you give a single solitary shit about whatever you just did. lvl up. pick a perk. plebeian.

Windows going closed platform makes any current windows version basically useless once that happens, and consoles constantly screw up backwards compatibility.

Everything is made easier at the expense of depth. It's hard to explain honestly if you haven't played them, but the stories and character interactions are really "streamlined", it has quest markers instead of making you follow directions and explore, Morrowind had a huge menu of customizable attributes and skills while Skyrim has NO attributes and a much shorter list of skills, it's just generally more marketed to normies instead of to people who love RPG's. I'm kinda hoping someone else can help me out here because I don't feel like I'm explaining it very well

The quests, the stats, the items, the dungeons, the enemies, the spells, the enchantments, pretty much everything but the graphics and combat are lesser than they were in previous games

They have been casualizing every new installment of all their games since morrowind.

I won't argue with you, because I do understand what you're saying, but personally I enjoyed it nonetheless. I haven't play ESIII:M but I played the shit out of Oblivion, so you may not value my opinion, but I think Skyrim was amazing despite its lack of a deeper attribute system. That is the one thing I would change if given the chance. But I feel like Bethesda's focus on "streamlining" made combat feel way more fluid than Oblivion. It's a trade-off for me. I won't say I liked it better than Oblivion - the two are about even for me. It was one step forward, one step back

I uh..I'm sorry todd, I guess I'm not your number 1 fan after all. I mean I have fallout 3 on both ps3 and pc for multiple platforms. But thats really it. I'm s-so sorry please forgive me lord howard. I'll g-go buy fallout 4 when I acquire the moneys, I w-won't pirate it cause I'm a good boy.
