They've officially said that every single character is returning. The real issue that is making everyone worry is if we're going to see things go DW6 clones, since Cheng Pu has a Viper Blade, the iconic weapon of choice for Zhang Fei.

Did you watch the trailer? Ain't a damn thing realistic about it. It was open world, but the movesets shown were still "lol look at our hilarious anime fire effects and enormous range as we kill a hundred guys in 1 swing." Nevermind they're bringing back every single character after making brand new movesets literally only 1 single game ago. They're not going to trash any of the old move sets when they can just reuse them all and save time that way for some 80 characters probably. They'll just incorporate the new shit into the old stuff.

Going by the screen shots he looks like he's doing some fancy kung fu shit with his "Viper Blade" as opposed to all the wild smashing and brutality that Zhang Fei does.

I'm not sure if you've played DW8 or not, but several characters wielded the same weapon, but none of them were clones. There were at least 3 or 4 characters with dual swords and none of them had even close to the same moveset. Same for all the spear wielders, pike users, etc. They did in 7, but 8 removed all the clones.

Its considered disgusting and unkempt in Asia. Same reason why no one has facial hair. If you actually keep it long and well conditioned it's seen as effeminate.
