First and foremost, the DLC characters won't be returning, initially. Megaman probably won't either. the three promoted costumes will probably be costumes again as they won't need to pad out the roster due to no 3ds version.
Now for the new characters. There will be an inkling, maybe Springman, probably a Switch FE character, a new pokemon, a new mario character, an old obscure NES character, a new 3rd party character, and some off the wall characters that are not Ridley, K Rool, Geno, Ice Climbers, Wolf, and Snake. Since they had/missed their chance

Retard. Smash 4 development ended last year, they aren't going to start development for a Smash 5 so soon. The only reason they haven't announced the Smash 4 port yet is because Nintendo is actually smart and realizes announcing a Smash 4 port would eat alive the new IPs they're trying to push right now and it would destroy the Pokken port. Don't be surprised if it ends up getting announced before the year is over though.
Roy is perfectly fine. I do think they should just make Dr. Mario an alt and give regular Mario his moves or something.
