In Witcher 1, the house where Triss lived, you could find footsteps outside of her window. And during Witcher 3 at Kaer Morhen, Lambert asks about how Triss is doing to Geralt, and during the drinking game they asked if anyone jumped out of a lovers window, and Lambert says he did because he didn't want to hurt a close friend.

Take it from me that Triss is a slightly better waifu but Yennefer is the right choice within TW3 storyline. Yen also isn't really a bitch at all, it's just waifufags stirring shit up. There is no content involving Triss beyond the mages quest and a cameo appearance at Kaer Morhen later (if you make the right choices). She becomes a literal third wheel who has maybe 10 lines total after Novigrad. Meanwhile things remain awkward between Geralt and the other characters involved for the rest of the game. Do yourself a favor and save before completing Triss's mage quest, fuck her if you want, then reload and choose Yennefer later instead. You'll get a better story experience since the game was tailor made for Geralt and Yen to be together. Triss was an afterthought who was only included as a thank you to people who played TW2.
