Checkmate.
Oh shit son.
But honestly both consoles are sleeper god-tier.
>underrated
Everyone knows it makes a great portable emulator.
>everyone
You're not wrong, just wrong about the scope to which it was appreciated. Outside of emulation, it also had a pretty damn strong lineup.
behold
im pretty sure the vita is more underrated
It has to be good to be underrated, user.
I just bought one of these, recommend me some games please.
Also, does anybody know where I can get a transparent or frosted replacement shell for a 3000?
Nah.

I just purchased a used psp on eBay a few weeks ago. I'm currently playing Freedom Unite. Can anyone recommend some good games? Is it worth patching the Japanese digimon and gundam games?

Do I need a memory card to hack it?
also cheap as fuck. it used to be cheaper before usb support came out though
PSTV and Slim both have an onboard 1GB for this sort of desperate needs. I managed to fit like 4 PSone Classics using no USB drives and no Sony memory cards. Honestly the only problem with PSTV is how complicated and stressful to do anything. It's not that hard, it's just much harder than it really needs to be. The hacking community made discoveries and breakthroughs, but now it needs to be refined.
Though I should warn you it needs to be on 3.60 or lower, before you impulsively buy one and potentially end up with paperweight.
I have a hacked VITA 1000. But it would be nice to have something to play PSP games on my TV.
Z.H.P., Prinny 2 and Taiko DX are 10/10 games.
Yeah I paid I think $25 for mine.
Super deal.
Thanks, I'm downloading these now.
>the first Monster Hunter machine
>underrated
How would you say prinny 2 stacks up against the first one? I played 1 but I ended up more annoyed than anything by the end.
>monster hunter
>popular
Ok maybe in nipland but in burgerland nobody knows what MH is.
I'm not sure that the PSP is underrated, because it was relatively successful in the Western market. My answer would be the Sega Dreamcast, although it's challenging to call it underrated due to the substantial cult following that the console, deservedly, has. Outside of the Dreamcast, the Wii U is an incredibly great system with a solid selection of first party, must play titles, that was essentially shunned by the Western market.
Any new PSTV will come lower than that. No point in buying them second hand anyway, they're dirt cheap.
Tangentially related, but I just finished hacking my PSP, 3DS and Wii U over the past few weeks and now I have more games than I'll ever be able to play in my entire life. What the fuck do I do now?
>What the fuck do I do now?
Lose your virginity
I'm considering buying a PSP Go because my old PSP is completely busted.
How is the D-Pad on it? I was never a fan of how mushy the original PSP D-Pad was.
I like a nice clicky D-Pad.
The Vita has the best d-pad I've ever used on a handheld, or any console for the past decade or so.
This thing is cool, but I really wish it had UMD disc support so I wouldn't have to rebuy my PSP games. That would make it god tier.
Just rip them to ISOs, m8. It's not even like you're pirating, since you already own them.
You really don't want your PSTV vibrating and prone of failure due to even more moving parts. Your load times will improve if you rip them to iso anyway.
Oh, I'm definitely aware of that. I've got one.
My Vita's on 3.63 and I'm considering updating it to the current firmware to buy the new ClaDun game and some other stuff.
I'm willing to lose out on the ePSP homebrew and emulators on the Vita considering it doesn't support PS1 games with sound through ARK-2 and it's annoying putting stuff on there to begin with.
>The Vita has the best d-pad I've ever used on a handheld, or any console for the past decade or so.
T H I S
You can keep VHBL for ePSP emulation on 3.65. You just lose PSP piracy and soundless PS1 piracy.
Really?
Can I still transfer stuff through QCMA?
You mean smuggling them in through PSP save files and INSTALL.zip files?
Yeah, that's what I was trying to describe.
Can you still do that on 3.65?
Yes, that works the same.
But it's much easier just to use FTP desu
Sweet, thanks for the info.
Trails in the Sky
Turbografx 16, having the best Castlevania game ever.
Does it support every Vita and PSP game?
Don't forget about Monster Hunter. GTA, Burnout and Dissidia.
I implied that the thing would be hacked, so yes it would. In fact some (a very few) PSP games were hacked to support right analog camera controls. Not just a simple remap, but actually hex editing the memory and shit to do right analog camera. There's another list of games that does a digital remap of the camera to right analog. Vita games can be made to run better (YMMV) by maxing the clock speeds, which has no battery problems on a PSTV.
Is that a PS Vita? Which games does it have? I have a console at home I play sometimes to relax. I oughta get one of these for the car.
Using hacks you can force all Vita games to run and bypass the blacklist. But a handful of Vita games (e.g Tearaway) crash anyway.
damn, I am fucking sold.
People shitted on this thing back when it came out but I gotta admit it has better games than phones nowadays.
When was PSP ever underrated? UMD laughs aside. DS library still destroyed it, but fucking hell did PSP have a lot of gems and overall great action titles that the DS specs could never handle
>DS library still destroyed it
Maybe during the first few years, but after all is said and done? No way. The PSP even got Tekken 6.
catalog went to shit after the piracy sadly
i mean i pirated it day one
how expensive is this little jew atm?
PSTV. PSP is actually rated exactly where it should be (and that's pretty fucking high).
PSTV can be had for like 25 bucks, lets you save via USB, and lets you play a shit ton of PSP, Vita, and PS Classic games for dirt cheap on a Dualshock 4 (or 3, if that's your preference - but why?).
At its lowest point, I've seen people brag about getting it for $20 or some shit. I got it for $40-$45 USD earlier this year. $20 being dirt cheap how the fuck to $45 being appropriately priced for hacking.
There's one on ebay for 30 bucks right now. That said, I think you're gonna have to buy the power cord separately. But, considering that the system goes for like 75 bucks new on Amazon, that's a pretty good deal.
I got mine for 25 shipped, new in box, around a year ago. There was a time when nobody wanted this thing, and even Amazon was selling it WITH a Dualshock 3 for 50 bucks.
That thing would have sold gangbusters if they would have invested enough to make it a real competitor to Roku. Sure, it's 720p/1080i limited, but all they had to do was market it as a roku alternative that you could also play Vita/PSP/PS1 games on, and I know more than a few people that would have been happy with it. A real shame, considering how many people I know who are dumping cable for PS Vue.
I wasn't willing to bet my money that PSTV was going to see a breakthrough, especially with the Canadian dollar being at its worst. I just checked and I actually paid a lot more. $42 listed price, $7.57 shipping, $5.63 retard fee, $55.20 USD which ended up being $76.76 CAD. Wow thanks Canada.
Canada is such an odd country. I don't mean to derail the thread, but I've never understood your economy. I get that its resource based and all, but the fluctuations make no fucking sense to me. Also, you PM really, REALLY needs to go. Dude is a joke (and this is coming from someone who has a leader that tweeted himself bodyslamming and slapping CNN, to the Big News's autistic screeching).
Believe it or not the output is actually the PSTV's weakest point and my personal biggest disappointment. The Vita runs at 960x544, the PSTV doesn't change any of that and just blows it up to 1280x720 or squishes it to 720x480 which isn't even 16:9 in the first place. So while a Vita makes PS1 games look amazing because of the perfect 2x interger scale, you will not get any of that on PSTV because of the dirty 720p upscale. PSTV's PS1 settings menu is also gutted and lacks a ton of options you get on a Vita. You cannot set the screen size (Original, Normal, Zoom, Full) and you cannot disable the bilinear filtering. PSTV was so close to being the perfect PS1 microconsole because of its native HDMI output but internally it's just barely good enough.
Yeah. I pretty much only picked up the PSTV because it was dirt cheap at the time and my wife wanted to watch me play P4 Golden. I use my Vita for pretty much everything else (and why not? I have the OLED version).
