This is the definitive version of the game. I hope no one argues otherwise. If you play the NES version while this version exists, you are a piece of shit.

I agree but mostly due to the e reader levels

ok but why the japanese version?

>Screen crunch

Why not just play the SNES version it ripped off? The one without the YAHOO!

tfw

>adds *bing bing wahoo*
>*ITSAMEMAAAARIOO*

WOW. Great "remake" guys.

>Advance 1= Smb 2
>Advance 2= Smb 4
>Advance 3=Smb 5 (not really)
>Advance 4 = Smb 3

Did Nintendo ever give an explanation for this retarded order?

I'm still pissed about the e-Reader card availability

stupid bitch

>definitive version
>HAHA! JUST WHAT I NEEDED!
>PIECE OF THE CAKE!
>OHHH NOOO
>OUCH!

The SNES version is the definitive version

All-Stars & World version tho.

Smaller field of view and I can understand someone preferring aspects of the nes game aesthetically

Infinite toad houses is a pretty awesome reward for clearing all the levels though.

>All star physics

Nes is still king

>>Advance 2= Smb 4

World is not SMB 4, it's World.

Why the fuck wasn't this used as a base for every other All-Stars release

>yfw the GBA never got its own original 2D Mario platformer and it was all just fucking ports/remakes

>HOO HOO, JUST WHAT I NEEDED!
>music sounds like absolute shit
No.

JUST WHAT I NEEDED

What an asinine reason to hate a game. Also the music sounds perfectly fine. Kill yourselves.

I don't remember how different the physics were in SMAS compared to SMB3, but SMW definitely had a better engine than SMB3. That's not to say that SMW is a better game, but the physics are definitely better.

It has All-Stars physics, so it's shit.

>25th anniversary
>they re-release all stars unchanged
>it's not even the version with world
I will never not be mad about that.

Mario is a faggot anyway.

It got Mario vs Donkey Kong.

>World is not SMB

HMMMMM.....

...

It got this.
inb4 someone who hasn't played it insists it's a port/remake and not a sequel.

Japan and America numbering is different. See SMB2.

That was more of a puzzle game. I'm talking more along the lines of a Super Mario Bros. 5.

Yeah, at least we got this. WL4 was amazing.

>Kirby got a remake PLUS Amazing mirror
>Zelda got a remake PLUS Minish cap

Mario really got shafted, huh

SMB3 feels identical. I thought it was only the weird brick crushing in allstars SMB1 and Lost Levels that weirds people out.

>That was more of a puzzle game.
No, it most definitely was not.

>Japan and America numbering is different
Yeah because NoA is retarded.

>Metroid got a remake PLUS Fusion
>Yoshi got a remake plus Topsy-Turvy

No, user, you're retarded. SMB2 USA, or, Doki Doki Panic, was the game that Miyamoto worked on, not Lost Levels. Miyamoto and his team originally designed Doki Doki Panic as a proper sequel to SMB, however, the project morphed into Doki Doki Panic.

>SNES Mini gets announced
>includes World
>it's not the World in All-Stars with changes to Luigi's sprites

Mario getting a voice is the worst thing to happen to 2D Mario.

Mario vs Donkey Kong is effectively a sequel to the Gameboy version of Donkey Kong, but apart from that it's a shame that wasn't more. Superstar Saga was great though at least

They focused more on spin-offs, which were pretty good on the GBA.

Yes
When I think of a mario platforming game I think of jump around a small board grabbing items and gimmick mechanics to open a door

Mario 64 is all about grabbing gimmick items to open doors

Why is Sup Forums so contrarian and fucking ugly? Literally no one else bitches about the voices in these remakes, fucking no one. I hope that makes you realize how fucking pathetic you are

>tfw no combined romhack that removes the voices, fixes the color palette, adds the e-reader levels, and fixes the audio

>Literally no one else bitches about the voices in these remakes
Actually, a lot of people complained about some of the GBA ports having voice clips when they came out. Especially ALttP where they gave Link his Young Link voice and Yoshi's Island.

Are the e-Reader levels even that good?
I'm considering getting the version on Wii U, but I already have NES SMB3 ready to go. And what said, it's definitely not the all around best version of the game.

>only Sup Forums complains about things
no, not really

Voices in ALTTP was an improvement. Not so much the Mario games.

Only Sup Forums complains about retarded shit that doesn't at all hinder the overall experience, they only bitch for the sake of bitching****

Eh. I don't think the OoT young Link voice fit well with ALttP Link.

Mario is Mario.

>Mario has been stuck with a handful of voice samples provided by the actor that first gave Mario his pipes in Super Mario 64, which he'll use when he loses a life, picks up a power-up, and in a few other situations. And, like in the other Super Mario Advance games, these voice samples feel incredibly out of place, forcing a trait onto Mario that he simply didn't have at that point. If it doesn't bother you from that perspective, the repetition of the voice samples likely will.

>Only Sup Forums complains about retarded shit that doesn't at all hinder the overall experience
no, you're just saying that because you don't leave here. go to any site or video related to a remake and you'll see people complaining about changes to stairs, colors, backgrounds, etc.

They're pretty great actually. They have unique assets and stuff from other mario games in them as well. it's even possible to introduce elements like veggies into the main game if you had the cards.

>Only Sup Forums complains about retarded shit that doesn't at all hinder the overall experience
Step outside once in a while.
They're a nice extra world. You have some gimmicky levels where they just show off that Mario 3 can have things from other games but there are some legitimately challenging levels.

i mean, fuck, if you're going to make a blatant cash-grab emulator box, how hard is it to literally just put the superior ROM on the box? why in the ever living fuck didn't they just put all stars on there as well

more aesthetic boxart and title screen

>Only Sup Forums complains about retarded shit that doesn't at all hinder the overall experience
There are people out there who complained about the color of Ganondorf's vomit.

>WAHOO! JUST WHAT I NEEDED!
>OUCH
>OH NO!
(You)

It's like there's a reason it's significantly less obnoxious when it is present at all.

To encourage people to buy the NES Classic

Oh wait...

>kana = aesthetic
18+

They didn't even put SMW on the $20 Mario All-Star 25th anniversary bullshit they sold for Wii.

SMB3 was one of my favorite games when I was a kid. The altered sounds really kills the nostalgia for me. Not only that, but the game just feels different, can't quite put my finger on it.

Famicom is the only one that matters. This is an objective fact. Go back to redit and jerk off over your voice samples and shitty resolution if you don't like the answer.

Why the fuck have they never done a definitive port of the GBA version but with the options of the full SNES resolution (or at least the SNES version with the smaller GBA UI for extra viewing, or hell, even go full 1080p in this motherfucker and make the UI a small thing aside in a bottom corner), ability to use original or SNES spritesets and music, and option to use all the extras, including the vegetables, cape, and all the fucking e-reader stages (instead of only a few at a time)?
And don't give me that fucking "duhhh we deleted the source code" bullshit either.
If they can put roms in a box they can reverse the code from said roms as well.
Goddamn fuck this shit.
Mario needs a fucking Taxman equivalent to do what Nintenwon't.

the taxman equivalent for nintendo would just get a C&D

proof that sega has always been the better company

>Originally designed as a proper sequel
That's bullshit, it was always and foremost a collaboration game between Fuji TV and Nintendo

What

Are you fucking retarded? We're not talking about the GBA games you idiot! When Super Mario World was originally released for the Super Famicom it was called Super Mario Bros. 4.

Nah if they did a faithful translation of that logo into English it'd be equal, but they didn't. I can forgive the boxart though because it wouldn't work directly due to the different box dimensions.
