A story that goes fucking no-where with semi decent characters. Gameplay is vastly improved though. You pretty much have to complete the story first though as you unlock shitloads of features through story progression.

A major improvement over the first. Monster units are worth using now and are the best they have ever been, all weapons have their place as opposed to swords only, and equip rates are better all around for everybody.

Yep. To be fair, each game after the first did work on trying to do that, even making a humanoid unit that was made to specifically buff them even further, but she was removed from this game.

How come there are countless Netherworlds in Disgaea universe, but only one Celestia?

Maybe there is more then one but they just don't ever mention them for whatever reason. That or angels don't feel the need to have more then one.

Gameplay wise its the best entry.
It also has a shitload of content.
Story and characters are subjective but I liked both. I hated the characters at first though, but they grew on me pretty quickly(also when I turned off the disaster that is the english dub.)

DLC are almost entirely extra stories about the other Disgaea protags/characters.
