I'm thinking about subnautica but base building/survival games aren't really my main thing. I don't like minecraft or terraria but I enjoy the survival aspects of stalker.

How do you spend most of your time in subnautica? Scrounging for shit to not starve to death or is the bulk of it exploration for something else? I understand you're trying to repair a spaceship or make a beacon so people can come get you or something? Is that the main focus or will be spending most of my time finding edible crap and fresh water?

It's easy to "survive" in terms of food/water, but building anything requires gathering resources in a limited inventory.

It's got nothing to do with adventure games, about the only good thing to be said of it is that the environments can be pretty. The premise of the story is interesting but they do absolutely nothing with it, combat is bamham but poorly implemented, and the rest is holding forward to get through the linear levels.

I'm deciding between Hollow Knight and Hyper Light Drifter, and while Hollow Knight gets a lot of love does it do anything with the Metroidvania aspect? Metroidvanias get boring for me these days cause it's just the same shit, even Ori which had beautiful art and charm became a chore after a couple hours.

There are quite a few DLCs that can be safely downloaded once you've purchased the base game.

There are also a few solid mods. I recommend the song of ice and fire mod if you're into that.

It's a SM64 style platformer. It has a triple jump and a belly slide and is generally pretty good. However it is quite apparent very quickly that the medallion count is full of padding. There are only 4 main worlds with 7 medallions (including the 100 coin star) each so you have to collect a bunch of shit like fossils and locations and golden gears. The music is great though and flying around the hub world is amazing.
