the only one of these which looks bad is the varia suit desu

Well, at least they never shrank Samus, turned her into a crybaby bitch or put an ugly mole on her face or anything. At least that never happened.

>Game ruins many of the designs and has completely different gameplay to the originals

>game permanently forces the character to only use the iconic design
there was no sense of progression in twilight, skyward and other m. also wind waker but second quest had the sweater.

>iconic

What if that's just her new zero suit and the X slime hardens into proper armor when active?

The highlighter one is the only one that is really bad, unfortunately it is used for like half the game

fuck off frogposter

>implying it wasnt designed to look bad on purpose

The mole is the worst part.

>game lets main character of the other games be captured by usually weaker enemies and instead of killing her, they greatly increase her size with space magic and use her as the final boss of said game

how the fuck does she even manage to take it off? besides the helmet everything looks fuckign glued on

>permanently
>in one game only

You chose the wrong game.

Nintendo wrote themselves into a corner with Fusion. They can't make a sequel because it doesn't make any sense for Samus to lose the upgrades from Fusion since they're like a part of her DNA or some bullshit like that. The can only continue the series if they somehow create a foe that is more overpowered than SA-X.

If the Metroid series goes foward her suit will always look like that

Let that sink in

This. And what's the blue stuff in the first place? I don't get the whole "surgically removed" part.

Play the game.

Well, according to the lore it's organically embedded onto her body.
How the fuck that makes sense is beyond me, besides explaining it as "space bird magic".

>if the series goes forward

Therein lies your problem, shitface. It never will. They'll keep making gaiden and side stories because they've written themselves into a corner.

The only solution if you want a Metroid 5 is to make Samus the antagonist and have you play as a clone hunting her down.

Federation Force wasn't even that bad. It was just released at the worse possible time. When they were actually showing it off (when Bill talked about how some people had some questions about the game) they should have said they were working on the Metroid 2 remake. If they said that all that anger people had for the game would have been washed away. They would have looked at that as people look at Triforce Heroes. Just a weird multiplayer game that some might have bought to try out. Instead with no new info about an actual Metroid game people just hated that game.

She could just go to a Chozo colony and get a new suit. Handy reset excuse as well.

Wonder if that was going to be the plot for Metroid Dread.

I still don't even get it. The blue is supposed to be the zero suit popping through the removed bits of armor right?

not necessarily

That's kind of what they've gone with; she can just sort of magic it on and off.

I would hope so, it was briefly discussed a few days ago in another thread, and it was interesting as hell.

I thought it was supposed to be Metroid-infused, that's why the spikes/teeth on her arm were blue.
It's clearly on top of the yellowish armour plates.

I doubt it. Sakamoto said he'll head Dread if development restarts and I doubt he'd go for that.

I wouldn't call it inherently bad, but it still was a slog to play through. I originally didn't want to play it, but as an autist who has finished all Metroid games I couldn't just ignore it since it's kind of a sequel to Prime 3 and a prequel to Prime 4.

Zero Suit wasn't a thing yet. The blue is the outside of her armour, the yellow is an underlay or something

I think that's the idea, but in a retroactive way because the zero suit hadn't been invented yet.

I fucking hate it.
All I want the suit to feel like is pic related.

Did you play it solo? I've heard it's only enjoyable with 4 players since the pace improves dramatically.

Am Curious on what the game was honestly going to be.Technically you are the last Metroid at the end of Fusion so what could be is the Federation is chasing you to try to clone you to make a Metroid of their own (for the third time).

Top is Fusion.
Bottom is Zero Mission.

No, it wont. If they decide to make a Metroid 5 or whatever you want to call a game that follows on from Fusion, they can easily just shove in some asspull that gives Samus a more traditional-looking suit.

I genuinely like the Fusion suit the most

In my opinion I think the Fusion suit looks cool as fuck, especially considering Samus is basically part Metroid now.
But I wouldn't want it in more than one game.
Samus is Metroid. Let that sink in for a sec.

I'd lean more towards the Space Pirates being interested in her, although Fusion did do a lot of building of the Federation as bad guys.

That's treading too close to Alien 3 territory.

It's cool in base and final forms, but the varia and gravity colors aren't very good.

I thought absorbing SA-X returned her to normal so he is just chozohuman and no longer metroid which allowed her to use the icebeam

Metroid Fusion already gave me Alien 3 vibes, especially towards the end.

Metroid is already heavily alien-inspired anyway. Fusion even had you being hunted inside an abandoned space station by an ayylmao as its main plot.

>Samus is basically part Metroid now.
Didn't her absorbing SA-X fix her though? Which makes me wonder if she would even have bird DNA anymore.

I mean Metroid has always been closely linked to the Alien movies. And it was one guys idea of what he felt would be a nice sequel to Other M if you could ever do that with that piece of shit game.

She could only absorb the X because the scientist turned her into a metroid which are naturally resistant/immune to the X

>When she absorbed the core of the SAX (the perfect condition of Samus), she basically reconstituted her genetic condition. She didn't recover the physical damage of her amputated suit, but she did recover her genetic condition.
metroid-database.com/features/faq4.php#stage04

>Didn't her absorbing SA-X fix her though? Which makes me wonder if she would even have bird DNA anymore.
Well SA-X copied her bird DNA self, they only injected the metroid dna later

I'm honestly wondering how much humanity she has left in her DNA.

Or at least that's what I remember from the opening sequence.

That was the idea that was discussed. It's basically as you said, samus is dangerous as fuck, has metroid dna, chozo dna, technology and weapons enough to destroy a space station, and she's on the run from the feds.
Last week someone played with the idea that in Metroid Prime 4: Dread you play as a clone of Samus with implanted memories, working for the federation to track down a "high threat entity" and at the end of the game you fight the original Samus in her fusion suit armed to the teeth and you have some sort of identity crisis or something.

It honestly had me fucking excited, and it makes me infinitely sad that it will never be real. It'd give us Metroid 5, but in turn they would also have an ending with no possibility for continuity once again.

I found this in my metroid folder, completly forgot I had it.

Solo. I didn't want to be dependant and just get it over with. Now that I know the missions, I clearly would have finished the game faster with other players. The mission objectives are mostly rather bad nonetheless and I wouldn't recommend the game to anyone.

She gets shot down, blowing up her suit and losing all her powers and she has to recover them.

So basically stripped down suit with gummi layer on top of it. That's gotta be hard to try and translate in sprite form.

>Add it to game
>Doesn't even pulsate or visible breath
>Shitty plastic looking material instead of trying to do some sort of shiny leather skin

...

>Metroid/Chozo/Parasite X DNA infused highly trained bounty hunter with some of the most advanced weaponry in the galaxy.
>On top of that infused with Phazon.
This was the birds plans all along.

Prime and the mainline are too different universes. They will never really collide I'm guessing so you will most likely just see Prime 4 as just a new game in the Prime series. Most likely talking more about Sylux and finally explain what the fuck was up with him.

As for the next mainline it will either be right after Other M but before Fusion or right after Fusion. It's whatever Sakamoto wants for the series. Because he is in charge of the mainline series.

Oh come on, user. It was a bonus thing.
All it is is a new model using the regular bones.
As something that's unlocked with a copy of Fusion and a GBA-GC link cable, it's not exactly worth putting the extra effort of extensive details.

Is that everyone's favorite HM waifu Karen?

>BotW tunic is locked behind a side quest
>Don't bother because Link can finally change clothes

>Prime and the mainline are too different universes.
Sakamoto says otherwise, I'm amazed that this meme is still alive.

I thought once she destroyed the source of Phazon, all phazon in the entire universe ceased to exist.

>Prime and the mainline are too (sic) different universes.
Incorrect, Prime 1 leads directly from Metroid 1. Frigate Orpheon was in orbit around Zebes at the time of Metroid 1 and Samus was able to find it after it fled to Tallon IV and sent a distress signal.
The timelines are the same, it just doesn't matter much because they rarely influence each other.

>The only solution if you want a Metroid 5 is to make Samus the antagonist and have you play as a clone hunting her down.

How the hell did you come to that conclusion?

>ZS
>ZS with shitty heels
>even with the heels the suit is a foot taller than her

Dumb artist.

Prime takes place after Metroid 1, dipshit.

>sakamoto is in charge of mainline series
Those words shouldnt hurt this much

That's what I said. Did you even read the post?

Phazon is gone, all traces of it are destroyed after Metroid Prime 3. She has no Metroid DNA in her body after absorbing the SA-X. When Fusion is over she is back to her Chozo-Human DNA. This has been common knowledge for years, it's fucking baffling that people still don't understand this.

Gee user, do you think that's why he said "from M1" and not "to M1"?

Which STILL makes NO FUCKING SENSE TO ME
Prime 3 was such a stupidly written game, I could barely believe it when I was playing it

Killing the source of phazon made sense to me, the bullshit with the aurora unit and dark samus did not

>devs keep sticking with shitty nu-design for no fucking reason

>can just bullshit new armour via Chozo statue test or repair works through Space Pirates, Feds or third parties
>ruined

You're gonna have to show us where you're getting that information from, because not only does it make no sense for DNA to just disappear from your genetic structure just like that, it's also never mentioned in the game.

If you're talking about being able to use the ice beam it's because you have the varia suit upgrade. You're not frozen by SA-X's ice beam with it.

I always wonder if Metroid 5 would bring back the classic Varia Suit look or if they'd just use the suit at the end of Fusion.

I've always felt like the Fusion Suit never had the best execution. Something like pic related would be even better.

ca.ign.com/articles/2006/09/07/star-fox-command-interview?page=2

You gotta admire them for sticking to their "This is what Fox is going to look like from now until forever" guns.

No need to be a rude piece of shit, user.

vomit

...

Aurora Units are like mother brains, you see.

That suit conveys what the Fusion Suit tried to but much more effectively. It's closer to the Prime games where biological life forms are much more 'alive' and sensible unlike the 2D games where they're more 'video gamey' if that makes sense.

The analogy was not lost on me.

Still have no idea if Mother Brain was an AU or what.

I think Aurora Units are attempts to replicate the technology behind Mother Brain.
Like how Reploids are attempts to replicate the technology behind Megaman X.

>In Metroid Fusion, it seems to have established that "Samus can't use the Ice Beam because she has inherited the nature of the Metroids", but why at the very end is she unconcerned when she regains the ice beam?

>When she absorbed the core of the SAX (the perfect condition of Samus), she basically reconstituted her genetic condition. She didn't recover the physical damage of her amputated suit, but she did recover her genetic condition.

Word of God. Number 41:
metroid-database.com/features/faq4.php#stage04

...

...

I forget sometimes, but then I remember how greatly MP3's plot disappointed me.

>introduce Aurora Units
>greatly hint towards a connection between them and Mother Brain
>do absolutely nothing especially interesting with them

MP3 had so much wasted potential.

The last upgrade (orange) is what's supposed to be the default, full powered fusion suit. The blue one is not the base, it's a weakened state that resulted of the Metroid vaccine curing Samus for the parasite X and integrating to her very base power suit, thats why shes weak to cold throughout the game, up until she gets that last upgrade. The orange upgrade is now the new base suit, and the next Varia upgrade is gonna make the suit look different, maybe even giving it bigger shoulders and stuff. Who knows?

then fuck off to another series

The space bird magic part of Metroid is an integral part

...

youtube.com/watch?v=plADYc4tnTE

It's just standard escalation.
You essentially do what you did in Prime 1 multiple times (is it 3? I want to say you kill 3 leviathans) and then destroy the source of it all.

They need to get an actual kemono artist to redesign Fox at this point imo

My fucking nigga.

Although I do think the sort of biomechanical Varia Suit that's a part of her body has potential, the way Nintendo executes it has always been retarded. Fuck off with the magical girl transformation, for one thing.

Didn't the trailer tease a Tourian section?

Fusion is fantastic, and so is its suit design. The amount of work they put into the character design documents shows this. I think they were merely trying to redirect some of the abundance of attention the Varia suit gets by making it the ugly one. The Gravity suit looks beautiful and feels cool to play.

Clearly what they should do is find a way to strike a balance; the suit is biological in nature and can generate armour plating.

Maybe start Samus out with the Fusion suit and instead of fully new suits, let her unlock suit parts or variations; she could get either body parts that can be arranged in different formations or entirely separate "Hulkbuster"-esque speciality types.

>Base: Fusion Suit

>Unlock: Varia Pauldrons (resist lava)
>Unlock: Gravity Boots (resist water)
>Unlock: Phazon Shielding (resist Phazon)
>Unlock: Dark Gauntlets (bonus in darkness)
>Unlock: Light Tassets (bonus in light)

>Given by Feds: PED Buster (Huge power armour)
>Given by Pirates: Gustav Cannon (turns you immobile when firing its huge beam)
>Given by Sylux: Stealth (weapons minimized, activates stealth gameplay)
