Is there anyway to revive arcades?

Is there anyway to revive arcades?

move to japan

destroy console gaming

this

>arcade opens up nearby
>on opening day, any of the 4 games worth playing were already broken
>the rest were shitty filler cabinets

Guess I'll just keep making the 2 hour drive to Round 1 instead

>OP invested in an arcade
You poor dumb bastard
I hope to fucking god you were smart enough to invest in one near a theme park, a mall or a beach.

>>OP invested in an arcade

No I didn't

Open an arcade bar. There's one near where i live it's bretty cool.

Your only chance is Round 1 or a Dave and Busters.

Are there any good tutorials on building a mame arcade ? I wanna build a table top

Let it Die business model

Im seeing a lot more barcades opening around the country, mostly in big cities. I think they could work if you pay via a time card instead of quarter=plays, and if you get a good location. Near a college campus or a busy bus station might work.

What's the appeal?

Games that are not bound by traditional input methods in a social setting? Nestalgia?

Make a arcade where you trade tickets for food, drink, and Marijuana if in legal state.

Sitting in a car-model while driving.
Light guns.
Playing air hockey.
Weird games that would never get a home-release.
The social aspect of it.
Nostalgia.
I dunno. I havent been in an arcade for at least 15 years.

Novelty games with friends

Arcades are still a thing, they've just transformed into actual PCs where people play games on.
