Why does it feel like this is the first portable console with full AAA games and not just crappy spinoff games for a series?

Vita could have been but Sony fucked that up.

Vita was still way too weak. Switch is 20-30x more powerful than Vita and it's still far behind PS4. But at least it's only 1 gen behind, rather than 3.

Bump

what about that third party support though? if you rely solely on first party then it's going to end up being another release drought like wii u. ended up waiting 6 months to almost a year to play 1 game.

The strong third party may not happen for a while, but they seem to have a plan for one mid-to-huge release a month to keep it going.
>Zelda
>MK8D
>Disgaea
>ARMS
>Spla2n
>Mario Rabbids
>Pokken
>Odyssey
>FE Warriors
>Xenoblade 2
Even ignoring the handful of ports, that's still about a big game every 2 months for the first year.

>3 targets in my area surprisingly have a limited supply of switches
>just started playing through skyward sword again and going on vacation in 4 days

What do?

>Switch is 20-30x more powerful than Vita
lol no
It's about 4 times more powerful as a handheld and 8 times more powerful as a console

If you get back before Spla2n drops, get to Best Buy or Gamestop early morning on launch and you might have a shot. If you'll return after Spla2n, may as well get it now.

I should add that's according to their website and I don't know how accurate that is

xenoblade 2 isn't until 2018 at least.
so far the only exclusives switch has released is ARMS.Zelda, MK8, ,Pokken, FE warriors, and more are just last gen ports you can pirate for free on Wii U or something.

splatoon 2 will keep japan busy but I'm not sure about the west. the only games people seem to be looking forward to here in the west is mario and skyrim.

The first Splatoon was a very average arena shooter that had a huge content shortage at launch

I really have no idea how it became so popular in Japan, especially when the Wii U didn't even sell well there

>le AAA meme
DS was the best console ever and it was pretty weak in the hardware department

What Switch game currently available isn't a multiplat, port, or shovelware?

>I really have no idea how it became so popular in Japan
it's casual, it has lolis, and you can customize your character.

add in that splatoon 2 is now portable and it's no wonder why its popular.

>hey guys, look at my shitpost! see, I can categorize every single game this console has as shit!

0/10 try harder next time.

>FE warriors
>last gen port

what the absolute fuck did he mean by this?

I would say that by your definition none of them are

3DS port

>releases on the n3ds and switch the same day

I repeat: what the absolute fuck did he mean by this?

Xenoblade is still scheduled for release this year

>What is a PS2

Until it has an actual date, I don't believe it

I guess you weren't around for the release of xc or xcx

I'm not that guy and I actually own a switch that I bought basically to play xc2 so I definitely have a horse in this race and I can tell you there's a 95% probability you won't be playing it until fall 2018.

it was developed for new 3ds first then ported to switch at the last minute.

kind of like how zelda was made on Wii U first then ported to switch midway through development.

This. All the past nintendo handhelds felt like Pokemon machines, and nothing else.

Why are people expecting a delay? I'm asking because I know shit all about the franchise.

Just about every Wii U game was delayed, especially when it had a vague date like "fall" or "holidays". Once it gets a date, I don't think a game was ever delayed, but Xeno2 doesn't have an actual date yet, and the closer we get to the holidays without it getting one, the more I suspect it's going to be delayed. They're obviously rushing to finish it and they don't want to commit to a date because it could be delayed, which is the only reason they haven't set one yet

From past traditions, Xeno games never meet their original release date. They're always delayed so they can "polish the game some more".

As it stands right now Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has no official gone gold date. For all we know it could be delayed to 2019

Huh, then why do all the titles look like Gamecube games?
Indie developers are producing better games lately.

>zelda
>mk8
>fe warriors
>pokken

These are all not exclusive. Why are Nintendo fans mentality retarded?

He literally said all those games are last-gen ports in his post. Can you not fucking read?

has this been hacked yet? when do we start getting free games like on 3ds?

Homebrew ~a year from now
Any sort of freeshop will probably be 2 more years or so after that

well fuck, good thing my hacked 3ds still has tons of free games
