Australia only has like 25 million people compared to Mexico and Brazil with have about 150 million people.
Now you realize a country's economic power doesn't really tell that much about the country.
Canada has a population closer to Australia's and it's still up there.
Pay2win MMORPGS
Mobas

Anything to flaunt their new found wealth
Australia is a wasteland while brazil and mexico are rich in resources all over

Doesnt Australia have ridiculous video game prices though? That might explain it.
They're mobile/PC F2P microtransaction cancer, sadly. They don't play to have fun, they play for leaderboards. And they're willing to pay microtransactions to be at the top of the leaderboard.
The moment China becomes relevant in gaming is the moment that all of the cancerous shit we hate is going to be solidified in the market.
I'm surprised Mexico is that high in revenue given we pirate the fuck out of everything if possible.
Mexicans are premier consolefags, especially Nintendo. I'm not surprised at all
Nah, Xbox is the most popular here. 3DS is also strong, but you will hardly find anyone with a Wii U or Switch.
Also Steam is cheap as fuck, way more than the US. Not an expert because I pirate on PC all the time, though
Take a look at your population compared to revenue. Now take a look at Japan.
Japan's culture is literally video games.
Video games in Mexico aren't in the culture of many people.
You don't see grown-ass men or women playing video games like in Japan.
That's not his point though. This list is the top 13 on the planet, and there's something like 220 countries. This is the top 5%.
Why don't Chinese games come to the west like Japanese games?
So does Brazil, probably even worse.
they like gold farming in WoW and runescape
>Why don't Chinese games come to the west
China only rips/knockoff pre-existing games and as soon as they leave the chinese borders, any first world country with a decent legal system/enforcement will buttfuck them
Why not make original games? I mean instead of making an Overwatch clone after Blizzard, chinese devs could've made the game first and it might have been a big hit worldwide. It would be interesting to see Triple A chinese games coming to the West instead of keeping mobile/free2play stuff inside their borders.
True. Theres this COD reskin that is fucking huge in China rn.
why should they? china's the biggest market and you can appease them with the bare minimum of effort
>Why not make original games?
Because they're Chinese and don't have a shred of originality in them.
They've had the unfortunate history of about 2300 years of legalist culture, churning out citizens based on a very rigid educational template that has nothing to do with critical thinking and everything to do with rote memorization. Then they had the unfortunate detour of ~70 years of communist culture, which results in roughly the same level of uniformity.

Western culture and Japanese culture take well to the arts (including video games) because we routinely destroy ourselves in order to improve. It's called creative destruction.
There's a reason why Western countries reformed their religion (Christianity) and schismed the everliving hell out of it. There's a reason why the scientific revolution occurred on Western soil. And there's a reason why Japan was the first country to Westernize. There's a gigantic cultural gap between the West/Japan and China that cannot be bridged with the wave of a wand and wishful thinking "well why don't the Chinese just make original games?"
