So my PS4 died today sadly, gonna have to get a new one. Should I just get the Pro? I only have a 1080p screen

>should I get the 4k console if I don't have a 4k screen

hmmmm I don't know OP.

>Pro
>4K console
you really that gullible?
I got Pro eventhough I only play at 1080p, simply because I wanted better performance AND real-deal 1080p WITH anti-aliasing, as sub-900p at 24fps isn't acceptable in late-2010s in my opinion.

Still, OP should just get a PC.

yes get the pro so that when you do get a 4k screen you already have something to utilize it

it also makes games run better on 1080p screens with boost mode

Why did it die?

Sure. In some games it has better framerate/resolution or more stable FPS compared to regular PS4. It's not that much more expensive anyway so go for it. Just ordered my today.

How'd it die?

>pro
>4k console

why did it die? im scared of mine, its 4 years old

voltage surge. it got fried, smoke was coming out the side. you're won't have this problem if you live in a developed country.

>Still, OP should just get a PC.

enjoy Let it die and FF XV on your PC.

oh wait

where do you live user?

As another PS4fag, don't buy a PS4 go get a PC considering most of the games go straight to PC

I just might, sooner than you think.
Meanwhile, (You) enjoy playing 15k+ games, at real 4K / 144fps, on your PS4, with free online gaming to boot.

Oh wait

But PC is for literal permavirgins.

Sony hardware fails. That's what it does. They're all pieces of shit.

>tfw got my wife her own PC back in 09 so she wouldn't hog mine all the time.
funny how that works

The Pro is mixed bag. Most games will definitely run better but others will have issues not even present on the basic PS4. I don't think is worth it at all.

I've had the original PS1, the slim PS2 and the original PS4 and never had problems.

>I'm the exception!

good for you

This. I have the pro and it handles certain games a little better than the regular PS4. For instance, in Bloodborne, I don't get MORE FPS, I get higher lows. My friend's regular PS4 would sometimes dip as low as what appears single digit FPS in areas with a lot of enemies while my pro drops to say, 15 FPS.

In a game capped at 30FPS, such a higher low is noticeable. Also the larger surface area of the pro compared to the OG PS4 and the new slim model allows for better (see quieter) cooling. That same friend of mine, even after dusting his PS4 and not having it stuffed into a tiny cramped space, it still screams like a vacuum cleaner when under load while my pro is a faint hum.

All comes down to price and what you're willing to spend. My PC was around $3k with monitor, so the $750 spent on the pro, headset, games, 2nd controller, and dual controller charger dock was really nothing for stuff I'll be using all the time.

I play on a 32" 1440p monitor if that matters.
