How would each cuhrayzee protagonist survive in each other's game worlds?
How would Bayonetta do in DMC3? How would Dante do in Vanquish? How would Sam Gideon do in Metal Gear Rising? How would Raiden do in Ninja Gaiden with his blade mode and crowd controlling slashes? How would Ryu Hayabusa do in Devil May Cry 1?
Supposing they each had access to all their weapons, accesories, skills, items, etc. And supposing instead of item drops or save statues Sam Gideon gets weapon drops and checkpoints?
Watch/play opening and ending DMC3 cutscenes, and you'll find out.
Hunter Cox
It comes from "crazy," user. Dante shouts that shit out whenever something over-the-top takes place in DMC3. Since then, cuh-ray-zee became a staple for action games that have complex or deep mechanics that play fluidly and satisfactory each time.
Lincoln Sanchez
>How would Dante do in Vanquish? Dante doesn't have a cigarette button last I checked so he wouldn't get past the tutorial.
Andrew Ramirez
He'd have to Gunslinger REALLy well
Hunter Rivera
>How would Bayonetta do in DMC3? She would fuck everything that moves and make Vergil her dildo.
>How would Dante do in Vanquish? This is an interesting one, but it would be boring dealing with enemies that only shoot at you.
>How would Sam Gideon do in Metal Gear Rising? I think it would pretty much play out the same as Vanquish.
>How would Raiden do in Ninja Gaiden with his blade mode and crowd controlling slashes? Now this is an exciting one, since those games are nearly impossible on higher difficulties. Adding zandatsu could make things a bit more entertaining.
>How would Ryu Hayabusa do in Devil May Cry 1? Dude would slay the shit outta that game.
Jordan Richardson
So it's not a fun new way for Sup Forums to disparage games for being too cool
I'm relieved, the buzzwords have been getting worse lately
Zachary Foster
Why haven't they made any character action game mashups yet?
Dylan Baker
On the contrary, my dude. Sup Forums uses that word in all it's cheesy glory. Just like Dante would.
I have wondered that for many years now. Closest we got is MvC and Project X Zone.
Jaxon Walker
Platinum Games could crossover Madworld/Anarchy Reigns, Vanquish, Bayonetta, and MGR right now
Caleb Hall
Dante can be placed into bayonetta word and vice versa with little problems.
Raiden and ryu are interchangeble.
Sora could beat all of them :^)
Owen Turner
Not if he's in Bayonetta 2 because you can only beat the game with Witch Time and Dante doesn't have it.
Isaac Brown
>Sora could beat all of them :^) I bet Kirby would kick his arse.
Justin Turner
he has quicksilver tho
Lincoln Collins
Dante has Quicksilver, though.
Brayden Cook
That would shit money. I'd play it. Platinum needs to make an 8th gen game already. Bayo 2 is confined to the Wii U with W101 and Automata is a Yoko Taro game first and foremost. Weren't they working on a new IP?
Hudson Smith
Bayonetta would absolutely demolish DMC3 without even trying. She might not even have to move.
Dante would demolish Vanquish.
Sam Gideon would do poorly, firearms are weak as shit in MGR:R universe
Raiden in NG would be about on par with Ryu if not worse due to lack of Ninpo
Ryu would do amazing in DMC1 aside from maybe Mundus.
Brayden Jones
>and MGR Wouldn't they need Konami's go ahead for that?
Gavin Rivera
Fuark YASSS yo!!!
Is this the CUHRIIIINGE Thread?! BASED Uncle Dante, desu!
Carson Kelly
Which consumes Devil Trigger, he wouldn't stand a chance against Lumen Sage who can only be damaged in Witch Time on Infinite Climax as he will dodge everything you throw at him. Dante would get swamped in Bayonetta 2.
Michael Robinson
I don't think any of the other characters would be able to do the platforming in Bayonetta
Dominic Kelly
...
Sebastian Green
i thought we were talking lore wise, but even gamepay wise it would that big of a obstacle
Nicholas Ramirez
>What is Bangle of Time >What is Quicksilver >What is Alastor No nigga, Dante would be more than fine >Nintenbros still dont know Umbral Witches were a thing in DMC1
Xavier Davis
But he has royal guard. Even if we were going by gameplay mechanics, you could easily use trickster and royalguard to build up DT to use quicksilver. Dante is completely fine in Bayonetta' s universe as she is in his.
Anthony Bailey
ded series ded genre >G-Get hyped for God of War PS4! I-It's so cinematic!
Grayson Sullivan
But could he do all the platforming?
Ethan Gomez
Some of his forms can flat out just fly.
Jason Lopez
Good games stand the test of time like all the Cuhrayzee games have. They don't need new releases to continue to be great.
Xavier Brown
>How would Bayonetta do in DMC3? She would have a pretty easy time I'm sure. Young Vergil should not be a problem for her either. >How would Dante do in Vanquish? Haven't played Vanquish but name a single thing Dante actually has problems with. >How would Sam Gideon do in Metal Gear Rising? Dunno. But keep in mind that Raiden can literally lift Metal Gears into the air like toys and yet lost a fistfight with Armstrong. >How would Raiden do in Ninja Gaiden with his blade mode and crowd controlling slashes? Human Raiden would have issues, cyborg Raiden would just stomp everything. >How would Ryu Hayabusa do in Devil May Cry 1? He is strong for his game's standards but he'd be dead as fuck.
Andrew Cox
But long enough for all the weird moon-wallwalking segments?
Christopher Gonzalez
The first DMC has definitely stood the test of time.
Ian Wright
I honestly can't tell if you're being facetious or what, but it most certainly has.
Nicholas Lee
I don't come to cuhrayzee threads to shitpost user, we're a dying breed and I'll take any discourse I can get.
Dylan Jones
I feel the same. But Devil May Cry 1 is still good to this day. The only thing I think that someone could complain about with legitimacy is the camera, but that is still more than manageable. It's still got a great difficulty and unique mechanics that I wish more games did what with the critical hit system to skillfully exploit an enemy weakness to kill them instantly. Only other game like that is Ninja Gaiden.
Luke Cooper
compared to sam he's half demon and from cutscenes, getting shot and sliced is no problem for him. If it does he had gunslinger for stylish shooting, trickster to replace the sliding, quicksilver for the slomo, and he can use melee anytime without overheating, also can tank anything with royal guard and unleash all the damage he absorbed with it. It'll make vanquish easier but also fun.
Dominic Morris
>Ryu would do amazing in DMC1 aside from maybe Mundus.
Ryu pulls ninja magic out of his ass constantly and fights similar enemies. He can basically fly if he feels like it but it turns out he never feels like it when your playing.
>Human Raiden would have issues, cyborg Raiden would just stomp everything. >He is strong for his game's standards but he'd be dead as fuck.
Gee i wonder what series user has yet to play. You have no idea how ridiculously powerful Ryu is. Plot wise his Mafuffin sword is so powerful that it has to be kept in separate parts and only joined as whole in times of need or it upsets the balance of the world.
>Cuhrayzee threads can't even get past 50 posts now
Xavier Jones
Shit, meant for as well
Nathan Wilson
>New
What did he meant by this
Levi Thompson
It's gonna continue to be like this until something new in the genre comes out
Ethan Hernandez
Cuhrayzee is a terrible meme phrase.
Camden Jackson
Better than the Sup Forumseddit term of 'stylish action' or 'character action'. Personally I don't see what's wrong with just calling them action games.
Aaron Lee
Dante can't survive in games where enemies fight back.
No new players to get interested in the genre so it's always the same people talking about the same things. Also doesn't help that all the games are in the previous gen, so normies and underages don't participate.
We need to get to Dragon's Dogma tier autism where we are able to have lengthy discussions about the same 1 game for 5 years straight.
Aaron Edwards
Those enemies are musou tier.
John Edwards
...
Christopher Miller
You just proved his point, there is nothing close to Gracious and Glory from Bayonetta to be found in DMC3 and that's just an early casual filter from Bayonetta.
Wyatt Johnson
The actual cuhrayzee games threads in /vg/ died and those guys are relegated to discord now
Character action is an awful term but stylish action is a pretty good name. It's honestly better than cuhrayzee.
Yes, I consider these games to be timeless masterpieces, but I actually want to see the genre evolve and grow with new games and new features instead of dying off into obscurity. DMC4 has arguably the best and deepest combat in the genre, but that game is heavily flawed with shitty level design and other issues. Even DMC3 has problems. I want to see new actions games that take advantage of new hardware and technology. In DMC3:SE, Vergil was actually supposed to have more styles to choose from, but they couldn't fit any more stuff on the game disc because of the limited disc space size for the PS2. The physics of Nero's Devil Bringer moves were apparently only possible on 7th gen hardware.
James Lewis
How about DMC1 you retard? Oh wait, you didn't play it because you're 5 years old and though it was "clunky".
John Foster
>DMC4 has arguably the best and deepest combat in the genre
Here we go...
Xavier Harris
He's right though, in terms of sheer depth DMC4 wins pretty handily however games are defined by more than their combat depth.
Michael Anderson
>He's right though, in terms of sheer depth DMC4 wins pretty handily
Except it literally doesn't. Combat involves more then just what the player can do, and what you can do in DMC4 does not even stand out.
Adrian Jenkins
What does Ninja Gaiden do that's so special then
Nathaniel Diaz
>Combat involves more then just what the player can do Enemy AI is independent of combat depth and I already said that there's more to a game than combat depth.
Liam Rivera
Everything that DMC post 1 does not. Combat is actual combat and not a series of training dummies to practice muscle memory on. The saving grace of DMC post 1 are some of the bossfights, of which 4 only has one worth noting (it's pretty gud though).
Hunter Martin
>Enemy AI is independent of combat depth and I already said that there's more to a game than combat depth.
Definition of combat
1 : a fight or contest between individuals or groups
Guess it's a good thing I didn't strictly say 'combat' then, isn't it?
Ethan Barnes
>DMC4 has arguably the best and deepest combat in the genre
Liam Green
Guess it's a good thing I didn't say that.
Noah Thomas
I'm about to play DMC: devil may cry for the first time, this is my first action game, any tips?
Lincoln Harris
Play literally any other one than that
Brody Ortiz
>DMC: devil may cry
Luis Flores
So are you the """""""depth"""""" fag? How can something be deep when it's literally missing half of what is required?
Jacob Scott
How do I Gunslinger in DMC3
Brayden Mitchell
Trickster has Wallhike so he'd just run on the wall.
Isaac Nguyen
Depth is the skill potential that can be achieved through the game's mechanics at which DMC4 has the most of, there's a reason why the majority of cuhrayzee autists play DMC3 and 4.
I think Ninja Gaiden Black is a better game but you're almost as bad as DMC3 babies, I though suggest you appreciate what both games achieve rather than acting superior.
Evan Garcia
It's the most recent one, logic says it's the one that's been improved the most?
Bentley Anderson
Yeah about that...
Grayson Anderson
Don't do this
Asher Butler
>Depth is the skill potential that can be achieved through the game's mechanics at which DMC4 has the most of
Skill at what? Doing combos on a training dummy? That's just muscle memory, there is little to no skill involved just time invested.
>there's a reason why the majority of cuhrayzee autists play DMC3 and 4.
Because it's easy
>I think Ninja Gaiden Black is a better game but you're almost as bad as DMC3 babies, I though suggest you appreciate what both games achieve rather than acting superior.
If you make the claim that something is the best you should expect that claim to be challenged. If you think it has no right being challenged then you're the one acting superior. I like DMC, DMC1 was my first action game ever.
Matthew Ramirez
Careful user, you need to keep it subtle
Dominic Barnes
Looks awesome, is that what happens when you get really good at the game?
Gabriel Ross
Let's not pretend boss loops and cheese are not a general problem in the genre. Why don't you post Vergil getting killer beeded to death instead?
Xavier Rodriguez
Killer Bee cancels are hard to do, what's being done in the other webm is not. No one ITT can do more than three KB cancels in a row guaranteed.
Jaxon Watson
>Killer Bee cancels are hard to do
Really? Timing two simple button presses is hard? Alright.
Isaac Foster
>Pressing buttons is hard to do Video games sure are easy.
Mason Scott
Oh, forgot to ask, how is it with keyboard+mouse?
Leo Howard
It's two buttons and you don't even need timing, after the first one it's just rhythm
Bentley Wright
Also what mods
William Hall
I feel Trick Shot Spiral and Charge Shot Rapid Fire from E&I sorted me most of the time, especially against the likes of Nevan, though I've seen people far better than me do far more with Artemis but I've never been good at utilizing its abilities well so I can't recommend it just off what I've seen.
Cameron Miller
Played it for like 30 minutes, so far so good! I don't see why you guys were complaining about it, the graphics are sweet too
