Switch allows you to have multiple user profiles with individual save data

>Switch allows you to have multiple user profiles with individual save data

It's finally happening bros. Albeit not directly in the games we'll have multiple saves for one pokemon cart.

However
>online subscription will apply to only one profile
>Pokemon Bank will likely also apply to only one profile
>likely won't be able to transfer anything between profiles on the same Switch

I hope there's a way around this that doesn't require two Switches.

Oh boy, I finally get to replay rumble, or whatever shovelware they usually pump out for consoles, without deleting my save file.

I would rather keep one save to the cart so I can inject without having to mod the system I play on

>>online subscription will apply to only one profile
Doubt. Games are transferable across profiles.

About that...

nigger you wont be able to inject on the switch for years

>individual save data
and what's the storage on this thing?

Gamefreak is probably shaking in their boots for developing a game for a console that's more than 240p. I'm worried if they aren't getting help from another developer, things are gonna go south. I am excited for a pokemon game that doesn't look like ass though, and hopefully runs at 60fps after the shitshow that was SM.

Imagine if they got Atlus on board.

One day I will though and I don't want to have to mod the system I play on to do it

It was already confirmed that it would only apply to the profile you pay for the subscription with.

Please be Monolith Soft and finally make an open world Pokemon game.

I would cum buckets. I think all they need is some extra help. They have good ideas, but they've been rushed to make games quickly.

I don't understand, why would you require multiple save stages on a mainline pokemon game, there's literally only 1 significant choice in the game.

>I am excited for a pokemon game that doesn't look like ass though, and hopefully runs at 60fps after the shitshow that was SM.
Pokemon VR
Android-only

reminder that, besides using some PS3-quality models for some Pokemon, the main reason SM runs like shit at all times is that the game is running hundreds of encryption and decryption processes at the same time that it has absolutely no reason to be running

Oooh, this is what I've been hearing about.

The console doesn't allow you to transfer saves to other devices: no cloud services, no external hdd's or anything. So if your switch dies, you lose all your content.

Replaying the game with gimmick teams.

I think if anything, pokemon needs a soft reboot, and this is a good time to do that.

Every game except BW2 and probably USUM is a soft reboot though.

To accomplish what.

>Core RPG
>Rumble

It's not really important now since there's the Bank but I used to grieve when I was younger and I wanted to replay a Pokemon game. Doing so would mean I'd have to delete everything.

I don't get how this isn't a big issue to Nintendo fans.

Pokemon is stale as fuck, and calling a gym a trial isn't gonna change that. I wouldn't even mind if it isn't a soft reboot, but it is getting a little boring doing 8 gyms every game.

Game Freak is just incompetent. It's like when they released that elephant game on PS4 for $40 instead of $15 and they uploaded the demo version as the full version on Steam.

desu I thought the trials sucked, I miss the gyms and leaders and their personalities

There must be some sort of circumvention for the problem seeing as how there aren't many horror stories. Someone probably found a way around it.

That's fine but that doesn't stop that every game except BW2 so far has been a soft reboot.

what the fuck
sorce?

I used to believe that Pokémon only had one save file cartridge because of the space limitations of the Game Boy format, and future games were just that big. What was their excuse for the DS/3DS era?

because if you want more than one save for various reasons you have to re-buy the game

why else

Anyone willing to add? I'm curious if there's a fix.

Keep Monolift the fuck away from Pokemon, they have better things to do.

Why isn't there an ad hoc party type program for the switch already?

It's probably cause the console is so new that there are very little cases of the system dying.

You don't have a source for that do you?

Nah, it's just the thing's only been in public hands for four months and it's hard to find one in the regions that give a fuck about it.

That seems unlikely given the amount of failed docks and the Switch controllers locking up due to incompetency: there must be another reason people aren't complaining about something this big, because that is pretty huge. Breath of the Wild is a long game, can you imagine not being able to recover lost saves? Over hundreds of hours lost.

Just because some things are faulty or low quality doesn't mean the whole thing's faulty or low quality.

Well where's the solution? Im still waiting for a legit one.

No, I mean the nature of a video game console is to play video games. Accidents happen, and result in repairs and refurbishing. There's no way given a launch on this scale, that this problem hasn't already been fixed or circumvented.

It hasn't. There're no mods to let you back up your saves.

Even if those single parts fail, it won't lead to losing save data. In order for someone to lose their save data, they'd either have to crash the OS in a way that effectively bricks the system or somehow physically break the system.

The leaked dev kit showed they're working on something for backing up saves.

holy shit

switch finally has a feature that the ps3 had 10 years ago

how will sonybros recover?

That's a phenomenon in itself then.

That's literally unprecedented in the history of console launches. The console doesn't allow save transfers and secondly, people haven't made a big enough stink about this to encourage memory cards.

what

why

So there's no solution?

You should say modern console launches. Pre PS1 days, saves were tied to carts but with the advent of memory cards, you were able to make start making copies of saves and backing them up to spare memory cards.

3DS didn't have system transfer at launch. It was added in a firmware update several months later. Switch's features are still filling out in firmware updates. It's getting save transfers.

Maybe it's because they fucked up so hard with XY on launch by forgetting to encrypt at all for online play leading to people being able to read the opponent's entire team and what moves they chosec each turn by passing the data through a program on a computer?

Gamefreak honestly needs to let a company like Atlus or Level 5 make Pokemon now. They're too goddamn fucking incompetent, and they always have been.

Oh well then that's good.

Hopefully it'll come sooner than later with full customization so people can have a lot of wiggle room. It'll really save a lot of speedrunners and CFW creators time.
