Anyway, you're right that these games are over rated. Not that I found them bad, but definitely not game changing in any meaningful way besides art direction.

I enjoy Ico as a basic atmospheric puzzle game with a beautiful castle to explore, but the forced combat is just awful. And SotC, despite a world full of brilliantly designed looking monsters that tower over you and have great animations and such, the game play itself has about 1 minute of fun for every half hour of nothing.

They're so gay!! They don't even have guns or tits in them. I don't get it at all. It's so dumb. There's no online multiplayer, either. Overrated as fuck.

bioshock to is unironically better than both ico and sotc. haven't played TLG though so I can't comment on that one.

Ico is objectively good though. Only escort game worth it, box puzzles were pretty overused at the time though.

The rest of the games suffer from severe technical issues and lack of vision, as well as poorly implemented ideas.

SotC has some of the worst camera controls of its generation. Wonky as hell. I liked it at the time but it started the trend of games valuing animation over gameplay, which I despise in modern games.

I can say that ico hasnt aged that well but SotC is still an exellent game, even with the bad framerate that the ps2 version has. The game deserves the status it gets.

This is how I feel. The PS3 port is perfectly fine. People should either get that (and they get ICO with it too), or just port the collection to PS4. This remake is 150% unnecessary. I feel autistically mad over how unnecessary it really is.

Sony just needs an excuse to get 4K games. It's the reason they got Patapon, God of War, Wipeout, LocoRoco, PaRappa the Rapper, a bunch of old IPs and games for it. I'm all for console games getting remasters or HD ports if it improves the game somehow. SotC had framerate drops on the PS2. But then you have games that add nothing to the original and expect you to pay the same price for them (ex. Dishonored and Dead Island).
