To complete the game faster

It's easier to speedrun

/thread

Speed obviously. It's not like speedrunning is easy if you pick easy mode anyway.

Look for the ones with special conditions if you want to see something interesting.

Why pick the hardest difficulty if the developers intended it to be beatable anyway?

What

>speedrunning
>a game that consist mostly of flat space
>90% of speedrun is rolling/backstepping

Speedrunning is supposed to be a display of skill. There's no skill in running the game on babby mode. How hard is it to understand this retards.

Wait whut?
I fail to see your logic here.

pointless if it's on the easiest mode

basically what said. it's a joke.

Are you seriously deluded enough to believe that running easy mode takes no skill? You do realize that the victory parameter there is speed which can be a nightmare to optimize even if purely surviving is a joke

Well the interesting thing I have found is that if you put the game on the easiest setting you can get through it much quicker. It's one simple tip that the big game companies don't want you to know about, but speed runners worked out awhile ago.

Watch some good speedruns.
Half Life ones (both 1 and 2) are amazing and don't rely on crutches like bumped numbers to appear more skillful.

>Speedrunning is supposed to be a display of skill.
wrong. It's a display of speed.

speed running is for fucking retards

t. slow, no skill babby

>b-b-but those grapes sure are sour!

The most entertaining ones are the ones that are on harder difficulties and aims at certain challenge.
Hitman speedruns are entertaining to watch, because people pick the hardest difficulty, aims at Silent Assassin rating, which is no alerts, no bodies found, only targets killed. These are entertaining to watch, because people learn to exploit the game in some actually creative ways. Not exactly speedrun, but here's an example youtube.com/watch?v=JKbptWt_Qs4

The key word here is autistic.

If hard mode has no significant changes from easy, then what's the point?

typically its so you can do more damage boosting because enemies do less damage on the lower difficulty

sometimes its optimal to play on the hardest difficulty as well

>People complained about Donte
>"Bring old Dante back!"
>mfw seeing old Dante in that trailer

Jesus, this franchise has no place in the '10s.

Unironically, putting a model directly from DMC3 would make a better result.
