WHAT THE FUCK? This level took me like 7 game over screens to clear.
Fuck those warthogs, fuck those tight jumps.
WHAT THE FUCK? This level took me like 7 game over screens to clear.
Fuck those warthogs, fuck those tight jumps.
This level was infamous in the original Crash too, if I remember correctly
Slippery climb fucked me harder
100% the levels Cold Hard Crash and Piston It Away from Crash 2 has been far worse for me so far:
>Cold Hard Crash
>You cannot get both the gems in one run, so you have to play it a second time
>To get the crates gem you have to:
>1. Get midway into the level to the death route (only appears if you get there without dying once)
>2. Go through the death route full of slippery ice everywhere, columns trying to crush you, and tons of nitro crates you have to avoid.
>3. Get to the end of the death route, hit a crate switch, and fucking GO BACK what you went through ALL OVER AGAIN to get a crate near the start of the death route, and ride the platform back where you came from and continue the level from there.
As for Piston It Away:
>To get the crates gem, you have to:
>1. Again, get to the death route
>2. And then go into it right? NO OF COURSE NOT, you have to go through the whole fucking level WITHOUT dying, get to the exit, and fucking GO BACK through the level to the death route platform to make sure you got all the crates.
>3. If you didn't know this first time around, and you are the kind of person to typically kill most enemies you see, then you ALREADY fucked up. Because there is literally a enemy you are supposed to not kill so you can use it as a bounce off platform when you go back to the death route.
Those were such fucking bullshit. I can't imagine some kid doing this shit, without any hints or guides or nothing. Its insane.
It took me like 4 hours to get the gold relic for this shit.
People forgot that as kids, very few finished the first Crash
>I can't imagine some kid doing this shit, without any hints or guides or nothing. Its insane.
When I was a kid playing these games I didn't care about 100%
Is it bad that I got the red gem on my fourth try? Completely new to Crash btw
I somehow got it first try even though I remember dying like 3 times.
I've did it. Took me a couple of tries (especially Gold relic run on Piston it Away) but I managed.
Only got 2 Gold Relics left in Crash 2 before I get the Platinum Trophy, then I'm moving onto Crash 3 (Currently stuck at Slippery Climb in Crash 1)
do you need gold relics in crash 1 for plat? I refuse to play slippery climb without dying ever again
How would that be a bad thing, you fucking retard dipshit mongoloid?
if it helps, you can jump and run on the ropes.
Should I give up on trying to get all plats on Crash 1 and move on to Crash 2? I've been at it for days and I can't fucking get the Sunset Vista relic.
>getting gems in motorcycle levels
I must have suppressed these memories of unbridled fury
Not as bad as trying to get plat relics in those levels.
Yes
I got the red gem first try after platinuming crash 3. Safe to say I got more satisfaction getting that gem alone.
I'm having a blast with these games and I'm hoping to eventually platinum them, but how the hell am I supposed to get gold+ relics? I can't even hit 34 seconds on the first stage to get the silver relic.
You can run on the rope
it takes just as much trial and error to run on the rope as it does to just play the level normally
Crash 3 relics were super easy bar hot coco and that isis level from N- tropy world. Crash 2 had some nightmare tier stages that made me want to kill myself.
Not that guy, it takes couple of tries to get the hang of it. It's much easier using the d-pad.
This.
people now want to come home from work/school, turn off their brain and go through a game as if it was a movie. Nothing bad about it, just depressing.
the difference is that in the Crash PS1 you could land safely without problems
Blame people like The Nerd "What were they thinking ? xD" because his channel is 90% movies and 10% talk about games with his cuck italian friend
Also blame those manchildren like Metal Jesus for making popular to collect plastic so everybody don't play games they just collect to show on youtube
Not really. You psyche yourself out much more than the actual level does. Brios round is the only real annoyance of that level.
>I can't imagine some kid doing this shit, without any hints or guides or nothing
You should have been friends with me. Granted some of my anger may have been taken out on you, but you would have seen me complete it regardless.
Just jump on the rope if you're too casual for the jumps.
Real question, is the game really that hard ?
its a meme you dip
Im replaying crash 2 and lost it when I jumped on the icebear cub and got lives for it
(also forgot to mention that you should fuck off backnewfag)
It's challenging, not "hard". People are just way too used to casual kiddieshit platformers like Mario and other Nintendo garbage nowadays. Their only decent platformers in the last year were the Donkey Kongs.
no, but there are levels with bad design and/or unfair time to reaction
Overall it's not that hard. Just has some insane difficulty spikes for the wrong reasons, like the High Road due to the wonky jumping and slipping physics.
Super Mario World will always be the default platformer
Dong Kong Country 1 2 and 3 are 6~7/10
Klonoa is better than all DKC games ever released
git gud
Tips for some of the later levels in 2? I've done all platinums up until Cold Hard Crash so far and the rest seem so daunting to me.
Abuse the shit out of slide jumping and slide spinning, far more useful than just holding r2 the whole time. Save masks for tough parts and try to cut as many corners as you can.
You're too good at video games.
Thanks dude.
Actually I'm a caucasoid
Actually for Piston you can enter the death route and die, then just do the rest of the level and go back. Still a bitch but a little better.
You referring to Crash 2? When you beat the game you unlock a sprint with R2, you can't do golds without sprint
multi-plat WHEN
That's a badge of fucking honour. There's only a few thousand people on earth that will ever do this.
Be proud son
No, Crash 1 is piss easy and funnily that's the hardest out of the 3
Crash 2 and 3 were so easy and boring I had to drop them
WHAT THE FUCK? Did they just forget to add the level
what the fuck am I even supposed to do here?
meh bait 2/10
why do you talk like this, user
Everyone has a certain way of speaking.
delete yours
>mfw got a platinum relic on High Road and still can't get the fucking red gem on Slippery Climb
I don't know if I'm just psyching myself out or what but Christ the level just goes on and on and I keep fucking falling
What way? Please don't say Reddit spacing, it's the worst meme this board has ever shat out
could somebody please tell me why exactly there are so many crash threads on Sup Forums in recent time?did they release a new game or what
>gold relic
casuuuuual
Hum... this is a Crash 3 stage though.
have you been living under a rock?
they just released the remasters/remakes of the original trilogy
aiight homie dis betta?
...
The hard part is having to go through the whole level and having to turn around and backtrack through all of the level to go back to the death route. So not really no, its about the same if its done your way as well.
This is a meme. It was the exact same in the original game.
oh i see thanks
i assumed it was just another le Sup Forums meyme
...
Sure, but if you do it without entering the death route first and dying, then if you die later you have to exit the level, re enter and do up to the death route. Just saves some hassle
That picture is the meme version of the official cover though.
Fuck, don't remind me of Piston it Away, I 100%ed Crash 2 on PS1 a few months ago and that shit almost made me quit. I'm dreading doing that again in N Sane.
Somebody should mod a Nitro crate in the classic crash bandicoot 3 motorcycle levels, I'm really curious what happens.
crash 2 and 3 are easy too 100% one is the only one hard but thats nothing compared to the original game.
I fucking suck at vidya, I got 7 plat and 19 gold and I feel very satisfied.
Crash 1 remake is objectively harder, it's been proved in every crash thread.
Crash 1 is slightly harder than the original but still easy and not as hard as people make it out to be
why? beacuse they fucked up the jump Mechanic ?
Pretty much, Crash slips off of things in the remake where he wouldn't in the original, so certain segments are harder. Also you can't get the same momentum from starting a jump in a stationary position
It's why people are moaning about the rope bridge levels so much.
you do realize that everyone has a different level of skill on video games? How many times did you die on high road?
>jumping height/speed is slightly off
>hitboxes are more punishing eg. turtle shells
>slight input lag compared to superfast ps1 controls
0 for clear gem and 6 times for gold relic
you completed high road on your first attempt and you expect people to be at your level?
Pretty much.
Here is an anecdote. I was having trouble on a level because of some platform timings. On Slippery Climb some platforms alternate being 'out' and sliding back into the wall so you can't stand on them.
My first go of the level, a heaps of attempts because the timing of two platforms next to eachother with the same timing (instead of opposite) forced me to either attempt two platforms within a second, or to jump up at the last possible frame, and land on the earliest possible frame one second later as the platform slides back out.
Was ridiculous physicsy hacky slide around bullshit but eventually it worked (like a lot of jumps in the remaster, sometimes a single frame makes a difference).
When looking up a guide, then the original, then attempting the coloured Gem (no death run) again, I found that the platform was actually glitched out the first time through the level, persisting with fucked up timings through deaths.
Short version: I got fucked by a glitch in the remaster without realising until I beat it the hard as fuck way.
The Crash 1 remake is easier than the original because now you can get the gems even if you died in a level.
this is literally exactly how it was in the original
also git gud
I'm sorry I somehow confused it with Road to Nowhere
Died 5 times on High Road for gem and about 15 times for agaib gold relic
I just hope for a CTR and Bash remake now with online multiplayer.
Yeah this is a major thing.
The coloured gems give a taste of the original difficulty.
I find boulder and water levels easy as fuck with the anologue stick and seems like smoother diagonal movement. Rather than being a ridged D-Pad man you can smoothly jump at angles.
Coloured gems are still fucked hard, and Relics are fucked hard too. For that bridge level at least.
The game is a harder because the framerate is worse
Prove me wrong
Nigger, fuck off I'm playing Crash 1 on PS3 right now faggot, the margin of error in the original is much wider.
Crash could literally be standing off a platform with only the toes holding him up, in the N Sane Trilogy you fall straight off.
The N Sane Trilogy made it easier to run on the ropes but harder to actually jump on it, same goes for the Turtles which have a dramatically smaller hit-box to register the jump.
>CTR and Bash
God please yes.
Nintendo have a monopoly on the party game genre and MK8 is a powerhouse that sells half the consoles.
I seriously don't understand how nobody at Sony wanted a slice of that pie, especially when they already have the games made, tested and with the nostalgia factor.
>CTR
i would finally give in and pay for that stupid PSN online garbage.
Sure, but if you're going for 100% in both then you also need the relics in the remakes, which requires doing every level without dying. So it's moot.
I'm so old I 100% crash back in the 90s and these pics are of levels I totally forgot about. I don't even remember feeling that challenged by the game back then. Maybe I should pick up the remaster even though I didn't like the third one back then
Except you don't need to break every box for the relics.
Beating the level while not dying and breaking all boxes is easier because you can go as slow as you like. Relics require you to beat the level without dying and going fast and also not missing select boxes so it's significantly harder than gems ever used to be.
Doing a level quick enough to get a relic is significantly harder than just having to break boxes at your own pace.
>Cold Hard Crash
In addition to all that, there was one box in the original in a bonus room that was hidden above the screen, though it was visible in the remake. It was easy to get but you had to know it was there. The original version only showed how many boxes you broke in the bonus rooms, but not how many there were total.
This led to the level being called 154/155
Alright when is it coming to PC then?
...
Not always. Cortex Power springs to mind. Or any level that requires backtracking to get every box.
It's not a PS4 exclusive you dump retard.
Those are outliers. Overall Relics are the hardest challenge, especially in Crash 1.
