weeaboos, serious ones (who aren't just liking japanese things 'ironically'), have a lot of disposable income which they use to fund damn near everything on kickstarter. Look at how many successful kickstarters Sekai Project has done, many of them going up in the same year, and generally before even fulfilling the rewards for projects they fundraised prior. yet they pretty much always get funded.

it's the same with furry fundraisers, some types of projects just have very wealthy fans

They have already teased three new characters and possibilities of bringing the stories of previous games into the game, plus upgraded sprites. It all depends how much more money they can get.

Redoing the sprites would take a long fucking time. I wouldn't expect it to be for AH3 unless you want to wait an extra year for it.

Sprite rehaul is going to be a stretch goal at least. Hopefully we get it. It's a good for everyone since it also means they won't need to do it for AH4. Unless they go for a timeskip, but fuck timeskip.
