How did he know he can wield Master Sword?
Is everyone allowed to try pulling Master Sword?
How did he know he can wield Master Sword?
I thought it was the latter. Classic sword-in-the-stone stuff.
From the looks of it Link went on an adventure we're never shown to earn the Master Sword. I expect he got the pendants of virtue or something similar in order to draw it
i wanna pull on links master sword!
here
Link is just one of those guys that knows they're the shit.
i meant his other master sword
In Hyrule Warriors Link is just a knight and gets spotted for his skills.
Any excuse would work so it's best to cut to the interesting part of the story: You wake up with a 100 year hangover and the world got fucked.
You could also assume everyone got smarter 10,000 years in the future, and would just look for Triforce marks. I mean, they made a robot army just for it to get Skynet'd by Ganon, and that robot army is considered ancient tech.
>ignoring the fucking tree that says it's his
nintenbros are great at paying attention
The sword itself denies anyone but the right person to even wield itself. AFAIK, you cannot pull it out, it remains powerless, and can even kill anyone half-assedly trying to grab it.
The thing is packing a learning AI, after all.
Did you even play the game?
I mean, he already had it before calamity
On a different note, Breath of the Wild's story is terrible in general.
I think it's fine. It's a cool setting and I like the atmosphere. In its best moments it's got some of that Planescape: Torment flavor, like when you're in Zora's Domain picking up pieces of Link's past life.
>everyone allowed
If they managed to get all the way out there, who will stop them?
Probably gonna find out in DLC pack 2.
The sword itself. It's very picky about who gets to use it.
It literally covers everything people have been wanting from Zelda
>I want a sci-fi Zelda!
>I want a post-apocalyptic Zelda!
>I want Link to be an old man!
>he
He has the soul of Link.
Also his father used it
The whole business about Link's past doesn't have any real depth. What does it add to the story? Nothing, scratch it and the ancient Sheika stuff, change the dungeons a bit and you got yourself the usual Zelda plot, just without the futuristic elements, which looked out of place anyway.
>last sentence
source: your ass?
Link loved in in that village with the observatory, his father was the royal guard of Zelda. Something happened and his father died protecting her and she blames herself. Link being an established knight took his father's place and proved himself to the sword.
Oh he also lived with Zora's for a bit and he had to choose between Mipha and some other Zora and chose Mipha
All of this comes from the game
Just a guess since he took his father's place as Zelda's guard
Did memory say his father died?
I really don't remember what was going on
It adds a bunch of things. Link has much more of a character with past relationships that we find out about. The way the Zora that remember Link treat him and the way it gets you into Link's mindset is important. The Sheikah stuff and Link's amnesia are thematically relevant, so much the game is about digging up the past and it's the primary story thread throughout the game. Probably relates to the concept of the game as a whole since it started with looking back to the original LoZ and going from there.
Yeah I think the first memory very briefly mentions his father being Zelda's guard before him
That's an interesting idea, actually. And you're right, it does add a lot to interactions with the different races living in Hyrule. Perhaps it isn't fleshed out enough, though. Especially the futuristic elements don't do enough to justify their existence. They could've just as well been removed while keeping the part about Link's amnesia.
You mean aside from every major NPC in the game telling him that he used to wield it, and all the flashbacks where he remembered having it strapped on his back?
I don't think anyone else came close to gaining the favor of the shrine spirits to be eligible to pull the sword op.
Before calamity.
>complete trial of the sword
>Master Sword glows and does that familiar sound effect
genuinely happy for Fi's little cameo, always loved the concept that the MS was the only companion to resist through every game
>someone likes Fi
What the hell is happening?
she was annoying in the game but it's pretty neat as a concept.
also she doesn't interrupt you to say your batteries are low in Botw
Oh wow look out its an opinion!
I like SS
How does he usually know?
The only thing that the memory says is that Link is a member of a family of knights who are established Royal Guardsmen. Being a royal guard =/= being Zelda's personal knight attendant.
>also she doesn't interrupt you to say your batteries are low in Botw
Yes it does.
Actually Link never has the triforce of courage in this game. He just pulls it out because of his heart count being high enough. Assuming you even draw it in your playthrough at all.
Gays get out.
You didn't play HW, did you?
