At the moment? They're planning to scrap the card points and introduce more regular "gold" system like in other mobas. Cards and decks are to remain, but this is completely unnecessary, will increase snowball effect and delete yet another thing unique to this game

I don't understand what gold is supposed to do to help the game if they're keeping decks.
The whole problem is that you have just enough deck points to give one build with one character and absolutely no room to be flexible. There's no way for people to include anti-toxic/blight/fire cards so they're totally worthless. If you think you need two armor cards you can't fit two ability armor cards. Can't take cool active/passive items unless your build revolves around them. And it doesn't do anything to help people who want a specific build but don't have enough enhancement cards to make it work.

That's not exactly true though. There IS some room for spare or situational cards, your full build usually takes only 24/40 cards you can have in deck, or less. This lets you put at least three fully upgraded early game, alternative or situational cards in there. It's less flexible then in other mobas, I agree, but I honestly like it. I hate browsing through hundreds of items in the middle of match.

It's not always the case, but you'll only have so much free space if you're building to your full build right away without any early game items or free floating cards in case you need more health in one game or you're doing well enough that you can afford more crit/damage over survivability.
