Well, it is. Han-D is one of the most underpowered survivors early on. No i-frames and very slow attacks leave you helpless for a long time until you get items rolling. You'll be relying on drones for the most part, which are very prone to desync, and just cheesing enemies which is not always possible. Plus he struggles at the start of the loop hard, being relatively helpless against wurm and vagrant swarms aside from shield gen spam.
Plus jetpack really helps han-d with some cheese strats and makes hammer much safer. Its a good red for him especially early on when survivability is most important.

A guy got extremely mad I wasted two reds into stacking rings instead of getting different things.
I wasn't hoarding reds, since we were on loop 3 and there had been lots of red drops.

Pretty pathetic behavior to tell others what to get with their reds and get angry as fuck if they don't, to be honest.

Han-D only gets fucked if overloading worm rng decides to zip right for you, in which case a jet pack probably won't help you. All he needs is a shield generator for early survivability, leave reds for better items like scepter, coil, ring, etc.

I'm not saying use the jetpack to hammer wurms, because thats always going to be unsafe when there's more than one going around. I'm saying it helps in surviving until your shield gen is up again.

Not him, but my argument is that the more common feathers do this already. But I also understand that most people don't want to wait for map 4-5 to be able to fly over the enemies heads.

Well, not exactly the same. Jetpack has some properties that feathers dont have which makes it always useful imo. It recharges in the air which is useful for gaining even more height with feathers, gives you some extra safety for when you need to use a jumpad in an emergency since your feathers wont recharge at that point, can actually be used in conjunction with some abilities unlike feathers(sniper's charge shot and han-d's hammer) and gives much more precise movement in the air.

I understand its versatility, but the flight is just too short for my taste. If only it had a synergy with the Rusty Jetpack; seriously, I was very surprised when I found out you don't reach higher grounds if you have R.Jetpacks.
And while the flying Sniper is a cool thing to see, I personally find Drills more ridiculous on him.

Yeah I was the one who told him to loop because final isn't very fun. He had said final prior to that at like the beginning of the level but he didn't say it when it mattered.
