Its better than Mario 64
Fun gimmick, nice physics for said gimmick.
It's a good mario game.
I modded my GC specifically for this game and was extremely disappointed
better than 64
...
What the fuck
gross
>Less worlds than 64
>Can't do missions in a non linear fashion
>No Long Jump
>No Punch
>20 Shines gated behind Blue Coins many of which are impossible without a guide
>Too many Red Coin missions
>Chuckster
>Cleaning a beach
>Cleaning off Piantas
>Gelato-8
>Ricco-8
>Pinna-8
>Lily pad
>Pachinko
>Putting Chain Chomps in water
>Corona boat section
>Voice acting
>Repeated Shadow Mario levels
Worst 3D Mario by far, Luigi's Mansion was much better.
Mario is fun, the levels are a mixed bag.
I hate this game
Comfiest game ever.
It was the last proper 3D mario game in the vein of 64.
I don't like it. Mario controls like a dream most of the time but the levels fucking suck ass.
It was the only other 3D Mario game since 64 you doofus
Can you read
This post pretty much nails all of the negatives of the game, but despite this i think it's still a solid game, movement is fun, music is great, worlds look nice, FLUDDless platforming levels are well done for the most part and some of the missions are great. Sure FLUDD is a gimmick but its well implemented so its not bothersome. Worth playing through despite being tedious at times
>just recently find out that shit like blue coin, 100 coin, level 8, and secret sprites don't actually get you closer to the end of the game
>all that time and frustration for nothing
you still posting that .webm scrub?
It's the only mario game I consider an 8/10 or better
Most of what you say here are valid criticsms, but
>No Long Jump
>No Punch
Punch is completely redudant in the context of Sunshine's gameplay, and the fludd makes long jump nearly entirely so as well. Long jump might serve a purpose in the Fludd-less levels, but they are designed so you don't need long jump anyways
>Can't do missions in a non linear fashion
Except you can.
>20 Shines gated behind Blue Coins many of which are impossible without a guide
Which are all optional.
will odyssey bring this back?
I tried it and it just didn't immerse me the way sm64 did. It felt like there were a lot of unnecessary elements and it made levels feel more about doing one thing or another to fufill a condidtion instead of straight up platforming.
