>Oh fuck, the dragonborn just defeated me in the realm where I can't be killed, I should leave and go to the realm where I can be killed for a rematch.
>Yes, that is a good plan. Nothing could go wrong.
Oh fuck, the dragonborn just defeated me in the realm where I can't be killed...

This game was just about OK but they've been milking it like hell. I don't get it.
I remember when it came out. It was fantastic in 2011, but it hasn't aged very well.
To be fair, he didn't expect the Dragonborn to reach it, afterall he has to die to get in there or get a Dragon.
I honestly never even made it to the end. I've tried multiple times and just get burnt out. the dungeon design, the quests, the combat; it's all so fucking bland.
Didn't he go there to amass power faster for the rematch?
I mean isn't his whole thing eating souls? He'd need a direct line of them he could only get there so it makes since he'd risk it.
Better than being eternally beat down and trapped in Nirn.
...
>Not just saying HAHAHAHA FUCK YOU DOVAHKIIN! and eating the world while he sleeps
Alduin's retarded
Yes yes there's lots of draugr
still relevant?
>It was fantastic in 2011
Only for the first few hours. Then you discovered how shitty the guilds and side quests were.
>dropped no loot of any kind on death
>shitty boss fight in general, you nust shout with some retards and whack him a bunch while he doesn't fight back
>your only reward is more or less the ending to NGE where a bunch of shitheads stand around clapping while saying 'congratulations'
Yeah, Alduin went there to eat them souls and come back stronger in order to start the end of everything. It didn't count on the Dragonborn chasing him to the one place where he was vulnerable.
Can the aging meme fucking die already? The game was always shit, especially on release.
>nobody even gives a shit when you get back to skyim aside from mods or the occasional guard that very rarely says hey thanks dragonborn.
>that same guard will then shit down your throat for shouting in public
Hello underage
Absolutely. Skyrim was only good between the hours of midnight and 6am on November 11th 2011
Fuck off. The whole world was talking about Skyrim when it came out. The hype was ridiculous.
Always relevant. Alduin is a prime example of how not to write a villain. The lore behind him builds him up to be almost a god and in-game he's an utterly incompetent fucking oaf.
Skyrim came out 37 years ago, user. Feel old yet?
Just because you saved the world doesn't mean you can break the law.
The dragon fight I ever fought in a game that I somewhat liked and expected of a dragon to be was Grigori in Dragon's Dogma
>kill dagoth ur
>e-e-excuse me sera, i dont know how to talk to important people like you but i just want to say thank you for everything you've done.
>Close the oblivion gate outside kvatch and drive out the daedra from the city
>I-its you! the hero of kvatch! This is truely an honor!
>Kill the dragon thats laying waste to skyrim and is threatening the world itself
>No lollygagging...
0/10
with a few exceptions(mostly modders who make characters to fap to), Sup Forums hated skyrim on release. The amount of Morrowind threads was ridiculous. You are definitely new here, and I would guess cant even drink yet.
>I havent heard any laws about... whatever that is you're doing. but ill lock you up if i have to!
Its not even against the fucking law.
>ywn play Dragon's Dogma for the first time again
That was a hype as fuck fight though.
I dont see anything wrong with that user.
>You are definitely new here, and I would guess cant even drink yet.
user, if you were 16 when skyrim was released you can now legally drink in the US.
Skyrim was an is still shit. Only enjoyment I got from it was due to heavy modding.
every TES game was bad anons. Skyrim, Oblivion, and that shity mud of shit Morrowind. All of them. Bethesda can't make good games, just look at Fallout 3/4.
It really was. And then they come out with Daimon, and he was cool to fight as well. Especially getting perfect blocks on him.
>Not just having a cup of coffee instead of saving the Dragonborn, then getting killed of the Dragonborn
Alduin was a mistake.
>you are a super guy and kill god
literally every generic jrpg plot
user im sure you're mistaken. You clearly need to buy the season pass for fallout 4 and you will see just how amazing it is.
>Pull this shit then Capcom shows you how to do it correctly a year later
Fuck that, it had more running and cutscenes than fighting.
And I'm still mad at that pawn grinder bridges running sequence.
...
>he thinks Alduin is a "villain"
Read some ingame books before you try and have opinions
rip
>actually playing the main quest
Did they even try with him? I mean, this is literally one of the most generic evil dragons I could possibly think of
>almost a god
before the retcons he was a god
Visually I think he was fine, gameplay wise he was a fucking disgrace like pretty much all dragon fights in Skyrim are.
I've never actually beaten Skyrim. I always get bored by the combat and stop soon after starting? Should I force myself through it or say fuck it?
>save the world by killing an immortal Eldritch abomination
>Still not allowed in the bunkhouse
Fuck you at least jewtits sleeps with you after killing Grigori
hes a force of nature honestly. he eats the world to bring it into the next kalpa. hes not a god. hes just a tool.
Wasn't eating the world and being the literal embodiement of apocalypse his true nature/purpose and then went "fuck it, I'll make this bitch mine"? Because that's what I understood from it.
>it hasn't aged very well
It has a thriving modding community that have continuously improved every aspect of the game for 6 years.
If that's not aging well then I don't fucking know what is.
Dragon's Dogma is one of the only games where dragon fights actually felt like fighting dragons. Not even Souls games quite hit the mark because they're still hit the legs till it dies but they at least get it having the air advantage correct.
>Sup Forums hated skyrim on release
Sup Forums hates everything popular on principle, when you've been here long enough you'll realize using Sup Forums as a definitive touchstone for quality is a huge mistake
The trouble with souls games is that you essentially kill them by stabbing their feet until they die
You had to nail Grigori in the heart with a ballista multiple times before he was grounded if I remember
To be fair, most tes historians had no idea what Alduin really was, why he could laps through time, or why he is really Talos out of time
Tfw you liked vannilla skyrim more than modded.
Wow modders are actually just as bad as casuals
>Muh nude and rape mods
>Muh nerd culture mods
Storm King, Midir, Ancient Dragon, and Sinh take little to no damage when hit in the legs what are you talking about? Kalameet and Guardian dragon are the only examples I can think of where that strategy works. Either way Grigori is just a boring cutscene fight.
Because you just stab souls dragons to death
In dragons dogma you have to shoot it with ballistas and shit.
Imagine if a bug took down a human by stinging the person to death. That's how souls dragons feel
...
Theres other dragons than grigori in DD fool
Weak stop is their chest, they can turn your pawns against you, and they fucking fly around to shake you off
When I read the bit about how he doesn't wrong the player in a personal way I thought that at least Autumn killed your dad then realized what a downward spiral Bethesda is in when it comes to villains
Will the villain of TES VI just be introduced hastily in the last quest?
Modders have been quitting left and right. It's the reason why remastered edition has barely any mod support even though it fixed alot of the problems the modding community has been complaining about.
Not Grigori, the regular dragons.
Like most western designs, they focus too much on shitty little details instead of having a strong silhouette.
Like, this is a big monster that flies around a lot. I'm never going to be able to appreciate these intricacies, he's just going to look like a big spiky thing most of the time.
Grigori does the dragon thing right. He's basic in terms of details, but his silhouette is regal and imposing, making the player truly feel small, like they're in the presence of a god. Alduin feels no different from any other dragon in Skyrim.
Well it's finally time for the final battle. Just one thing first. You know that dragon on top of that mountain who's been helping you the entire quest? The dragon that taught you how to use your powers and figure out how to kill the world eater? The dragon that helped the previous generation beat him in the first place?
Yeah, fuck him. Go and kill him or we won't help you prevent the apocalypse.
Considering Grigori is the only praised fight that's what I assumed you sheep meant
>I remember when it came out
The weirdest thing is that it seems like FROM know they can't quite do dragon fights
The dragons are always wounded or off form in some way when you fight them
He was part of the AKA oversoul.
YEAH I WAS MAD
>sheep
user stop being so grumpy.
The souls games do not have good dragon fights.
t.soulsfag
Well, ever since DaS they can't really do any fights properly so I'm not surprised
>Managed to tether himself to the Heart of Lorkhan without having to research Kagrenac's tools for years
>Was able to survive a battle with three powerful Chimer lords and one wounded Nerevar before he had even begun to tap into the heart's power
>Successfully reclaimed two out of the three tools from the Tribunal, ensuring an eventual win by denying them regular access to the HoL
>Developed and unmatched bond with the heart, only wanted the final tool to complete Akulakhan
>Bypassed the ghost fence with ingenious use of blighted cliff racers and underground tunnels
It's a miracle he didn't win.
>Fucking Skyrim came out 6 years ago
Alduin could be defeated because he wasn't actually doing what he was supposed to. His purpose is to devour the world when the Kalpa ends. Instead, he wanted to rule the world and institute Dragon supremacy. That's why the last dragonborn was able to defeat him. If he was in his world devourer phase, absolutely nothing could stop him. Look at how casually he fucked up the demon that would become Mehrunes Dagon
Grigori:
>Tears down an entire fortress chasing you
>You have to dodge his fire while trying to get across a bridge twice to get to a higher vantage point
>At that higher vantage you fire a ballista at his heart to try and ground him, he then charges at you on the tower mouth first
>You don't get eaten and instead grab and hang on to his back while hes flying hundreds of feet in the air, climb your way up his back, and strike him at the back of his heart
>You both fall into an arena where you have a final combat
That final combat can include
>Climbing onto either his chest or back to hit the heart from either side
>Smacking his head to interrupt his fire breath
>Causing enough damage to his wings to prevent him from flying
>Causing enough stagger to his arms to save party members
>If he does fly again either shoot him down with your own arrows or ballistae around the arena
And in general DD's combat system lending itself alot better than most to fights of this scale.
yet still a Sup Forumsirgin
Not only do I feel old, I already feel the roting of my body.
for some reason, every time i go into dialog with this npc, they say something that sounds stupid and suddenly get hit by a lot of lightning while i get a bounty
it happened at an inn, it happened at the greybeards palace, it happened in the akaviri temple
does she have a dragon shout that is causing this or something? i'm so confused
>Either way Grigori is just a boring cutscene fight.
did you actually play the game?

What launches am I missing? I dont remember all the times its launched.
He probably sacrificed his beloved
What changes would you add to the sequel to make it GOTY?
Assuming they kept the combat intact.
>Sup Forums is 14 years old
>Grigori is a boring cutscene fight
>When the actual fight where you kill him and do the majority of the damage to his health bar out of the entire thing is 100% gameplay
Also theres only two extremely short cutscenes in the sequence prior where you just trying to get the fucker to stay on the ground. Not to mention the presentation of the entire thing is S tier.
Girgori shits on Alduin so hard it's not even funny man. I will never forget the first time I fought him in the Tainted Mountain.
Every fucking escort quest.
>Replaying Skyrim
>Get to Windhelm
>"Oh right, the guy with all the stupid shit in his house is a murderer."
>Find his locked chest full of incriminating evidence
>Can't be picked
>Try to pickpocket him
>Key isn't there
>Try to kill him
>He's a protected quest NPC
HELL NO, minor dragon fights in dd were just you hugging/climbing on the dragons chest and mashing square, for grigori you just pop a stamina potion, climb up to his weakspot and mash square. Dragons dogma dragons had some cool special moves like being able to corrupt your pawns, but fighting them was shit because they all had their weakspot in their chest and had barely any ways to stop you once you started wailing on it. Dont even get me started on the ur dragon. If you didnt have to damage their stupid weak spot they would be top tier.
The only dragon fight that has ever made me feel like I was fighting a dragon is midir in dark souls 3. The best way to fight him is face to face, the best way to damage him is to hit his head, and if you do enough head damage you can slay him with a critical hit for ultimate satisfaction.
I think it's Tiber Septim smiting her for her insolence.
>Concept of time
>Killable
Spice up the liveliness of the world a litte. It has a perfect amount of adversity and enemy variety but the severe lack of normal people going about day to day life makes the world feel dead (of course this might have been intentional)
Write the entire story with the same amount of quality as the final acts of the game. Dragon's Dogma is one of the biggest examples of not caring what the fuck was going on story wise until the last 8-10 hours where it picks up heavily.
And then just general sequel things like new monsters, abilities, vocations, etc. Ironically enough the setting for DDO where the dragon of the cycle essentially tells the Seneschal and the cycle to sod off would be a good premise for a sequel.
>tfw no matter how many mods you put in Skyrim it will never fix the utterly dogshit quests
>playing skyrim for the quests
What else do you play it for excluding the plethora of sex mods.
>Skyrim features dragons
>they're actually wyverns
Why is this allowed?
And it came out again last year
And its coming out again this year
>Souldrones come out of the woodwork the moment someone namedrops it
All according to keikaku.
no Todd, thanks but..WOAH, A GUN. C-Calm down there mate.
I remember this meme.
It was a good meme.
