Oblivion

Oblivion
>want to join prestigious Mages Guild
>must get a recommendation from every single guild hall leader in every major city
>go on a journey across the country and complete a series of difficult quests just to be allowed to JOIN

Skyrim
>want to join prestigious Winterhold Colllege
>walk up to the entrance and preform a mindnumbingly basic spell
>if you don't have the spell she literally just sells it to you
>bam your in
>by the way there are only 3 other students in the entire college from all across Skyrim

What the fuck Todd?

I think Skyrim is overall a better game, but goddamn why'd they have to fuck up so many things that made oblivion great

Disgusting. They gave up and didn't even try to hide it.

jesus christ, if THAT is what convinced you skyrim is bad; the game has many other glaring problems. i think is because the engine it runs on cannot adhere to any imagination proposed its way.

>>engine it runs on cannot adhere to any imagination proposed its way.

Just throwing words together isn't an argument, user

>Skyrim
>Want to join mages guild to get slow-motion shout
>"Cast Firespell!"
>Costs 10 mana

>next playthrough
>same deal, want slow mo
>"Cast Conjure Fire Atronach!"
>120 mana

Fucking stupid.

>i think is because the engine it runs on cannot adhere to any imagination proposed its way.

That is some foul word spaghetti you've got there, user.

i realised after i posted. havent slept and listening to heavy metal to boot, so my brain isnt top notch.
i think i should have dropped proposed. the "cannot adhere to any imagination" makes sense, atleast to me.

>>engine it runs on cannot adhere to any imagination proposed its way.

stop making fun of mee

Admissions are down. The student to teacher ratio at Winterhold is like 1 to 2. Skyrim's political break with the Thalmore has caused their accreditation to be pending "Under Review" for the time being. Dragon attacks within Skyrim are causing prospective students to make choices other than pursuing higher education, saving their money to rebuild from Dragon Attacks and reimburse their local communities from robberies by the Dragonborn.

>the "cannot adhere to any imagination" makes sense, atleast to me.

Either you're not a native English speaker or you've got some brain damage

>the engine it runs on cannot adhere to any imagination proposed its way

Either that or the engine can't handle more than twenty NPCs in one place.

Imagination: the faculty or action of forming new ideas, or images or concepts of external objects not present to the senses.

Adhere: believe in and follow the practices of.

engine cannot adhere to any imagination = the engine fails to achieve/create the desired outcome that the developers imagined an had in mind.

>brain damaged
maybe, but it does make sense to me.

>became the leader of the fighter's guild (or warriors whatever it was) within 3 hours of joining them
And then I stopped playing

DELET THIS

There is a mod that adds big random battles that have easily over 100 people all fighting. The issue is that each person needs unique dialog and voice acting.

>I think Skyrim is overall a better game

>voice acting
Biggest problem in history of cRPGs

You're fine, the other guy is an idiot who can't read English

I love Oblivion but it had the worst quest ever. Mystery of Harlun' s Watch. Hated those Trolls.

...

You'd think that people who have the ability to use magic, an utterly limitless source of power, they would hone that ability in order to protect their family/home/city from fucking dragons, instead of being a fag

>tfw the cool imperial mages in Helgen never show up anywhere in the game ever again

>i think is because the engine it runs on cannot adhere to any imagination proposed its way
has anyone really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like

...

>newfag detected

...

Toddposting has never been funny.

>Need to do x amount of atrocities to get into KKK
>KKK fucks up the world
>Arguably the most hated institution in America
>Now getting in is just signing an online contract which consists of a checkbox
...
>Need to do x amount of unholy potentially world destroying tasks to get into Cyrodiil mage's guild
>Mage's college fucks up the world irreversibly (WOW SURPRISE!!), everything is different for generations because of it
>Mage's college is now extremely easy to get into because they're starved of members because not a damn soul wants to be associated with that shit
wao op rly joggin'o my noggin'o

(You) win. Oblivion is better. See you in the next Fallout thread.
Now define proposed and explain how it fits, then go on to explain why you described the engine as scient.

>pretentious Mage Guild in the heart of the Empire
>more applicants than space available
>higher joining standards
>half-exploded college at the last bastion of civilization in the middle of the mountains
>reviled and feared in the country and largely avoided
>virtually no apprentices to fill the many empty beds
>will take anyone that can cast even the most basic spells

I don't get what you don't get. Did you think Cyrodiil and Skyrim were the same place?

"My name is Dumalacath, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye Mighty, and despair!"

Nice damage control, todd

Look out everyone we've got a copy cat on the loose.

I feel like those reasons are just a cop out though. Winterhold college is fucking disappointing. No amount of retarded reasoning can save it.

3 (THREE) students in an ENTIRE country

In a country of Nords, yes. Not to mention on the heels of the college blowing up Winterhold. Is there a race in the entire Elder Scrolls that reviles magic as much? Even the Orcs take to it better.

Nords see magic as dark elf trickery, and not fit for normal human use.

At least thats what Todd said to justify an awful magic system.

Not really. I mean new Vegas and Morrowind handled the issue just fine, and with completely different solutions

what are the essential mods if i want to start playing oblivion

nords aren't into magic so it makes sense their schools weren't competitive

I get the justification for it, but it's literally just the devs being fucking lazy and putting out the least effort they can

that is true
bethesda is the epitome of lazy design

>all the interesting concept art for FO4 like the biomechanical institute weapons and the old lady riding on a Mr. Handy
>they threw it out the window so they could reuse old animations

That would hold, except that

a) all of the quest lines are horseshit, invalidating any claim of creative ingenuity

b)the quest line is shit

Hey for all the dumb niggers who didn't understand your post.
I understood that you were trying to say that Skyrim as an Engine is bad for authoring tools to make a different game of a different setting.
