I don't really get all the hype in this game. You might mobs of baddies and get randomly generated loot from chests, collect things to upgrade materials, and go through an uninteresting story.

I was a fighter, warrior, assassin, and now a mystic Knight and am getting a bit bored.

Right now I'm at the quest called final battle and I do t even pick up loot anymore, just plowing through the easy combat at this point

Just go play dark souls

>he didn't even do the postgame

>hasn't even experienced any of the everfall/post game content or bitterbutt isle

I guess that if you didn't find it fun after a while, it's just not for you. I had a fucking blast right from the get go. Too bad you couldn't enjoy it.

Name ONE game that is more repetitive
>entire game consists of using the same attacks on the same 5 mobs which all spawn in the same places while characters repeat the same lines over and over in the worst open world ever made where you go through the same areas over and over

Probably the single worst rpg ever made

I went to that island and got some loot. There was a boss with like 10 health bars and was level 15 so I ran away.

I guess I kind of liked it because I'm pretty far Into the game but I'm just like meh now. I dont feel fulfilled and can't wait to finish it so I can try divinity original sin.

>same attacks
>can literally switch between 9 different classes at will with different abilities after playing for like 90 minutes

>Name ONE game that is more repetitive
american nightmare

If the game can't maintain someone's interest that long it doesn't matter if the postgame is good.

>I dont feel fulfilled and can't wait to finish it so I can try divinity original sin.
Life is too short to play games you don't even like.

>If the game can't maintain someone's interest
The game maintained millions of people's interest.

Sorry for your ADHD

Riiight lets just ignore how the shitty forced stat progression means you will be useless with most classes, and every class has barely any abilities
I honestly cant comprehend how anyone can deffend this trash, even vanilla skyrim was better

I mean, you're playing the swordsman. I swear part of the reason I love this game is because I play the archers. They're ALL OP.

>forced stat progression
>"how come my attack levels up more than my magic if I'm a warrior??? I don't get this at all!"

Maybe RPGs just aren't for you, bud.

stat progression means WAY less than you think it does, bbi gear literally invalidates it, not to mention you can finish the game on "hard" with all storebought gear. min maxing this game is highly superfluous. anyone who hasn't played the game beyond 2 hours always utters this same nonsense.

If you think you've already seen everything the game has to offer and you're feeling bored with it, just stop playing. No point in forcing yourself to play something you aren't enjoying. Just start playing the other game. For me, the game was fucking great. I couldn't put the controller down while I was playing. I had so much fun just exploring every little nook and cranny and fucking around with the mobs with different jobs and team combinations, heading out in different times of the day and imposing myself different limitations to spice things up. I just did those kind of things until I felt burnt out and stopped. I also got kind of obsessed with maxing out my pawn's knowledge. After all that, I just got depressed because the game could've been so much more but it didn't happen.

the upcoming re-release suggests a willingness on Capcom's part to return to the series, at least if the port does decently enough.

And Capcom has a history of doing that.

AAAAAAAAAHAHAHA oh wow you are as retarded as i would imagine someone who unironicly defends this shit game would be if not worse
Im well aware of how it works friendo, nor did i imply otherwise, the point is you cant just become a mage after playing as a fighter as you claim, unless you want the already tedious and repetitive combat to take even longer because you have aweful stats for the job

>Name ONE game that is more repetitive
All FPS's are more repetitive than this.

damn bruh did this game rape your mom

>says increasingly nervous man as capcom releases Dragon's Dogma for the fourth time

Not really, most fps' have new environment as you progress and the environments themselves arent laughably ugly and poorly designed

>this entire thread of baiters baiting baiters

4th time?
I would consider this to be the second time, I don't count DLC-bundles.

And there's no real reason they'd be doing it otherwise, it's not a game people really talk about anymore.

Original release
Dark Arisen release
PC release
next gen console release

It raped several hours of my time, i got through half the game and realized that the content i was already severely burnt out on was the whole game, and the shitty ff13 level was the entire world, and the rest of the game was going to be more back tracking, which i hald already spent hours doing

Well, I'm talking about rereleases.
And again, Dark Arisen was a DLC bundle, you could buy that digitally on PSN/360 store.

You sure are easily amused with colorful cramped maps, user. Good for you. It doesn't change the fact that the entire gameplay of FPS's are more repetitive than this game.

>he doesn't know about ferrystones
oh my, we have a retard here. well that was already clear from the start though.

And they had the fucking nerve to not even mix up enemy spawns, in a game that consists entirely of back tracking through the tiny ugly world 3456765 times

>doesn't know about post game or bitterblack

You have to play the game to judge it.

But I do know about ferry stones though, there the things that let you back track faster

Why are your only arguments assumptions? You cant even actually the game lmao
So pathetic

Right how could i judge the game without playing the same content but with re skinned mobs, silly me

This, bitterblack isle is great

Even if the game only had 3 enemy types, it would still have more tactical variation than skyrim.

What's the point of this thread? Nothing anyone says is going to change your mind, so why bother?

Once I realized that no matter how good I was I wasn't going to kill this monster without grinding levels or finding a weapon with more numbers, I stopped playing.

Which monster?

Probably the dragon at Cassardis.

>Once I realized that no matter how good I was

Nah, the only monster that can't be killed in a short enough amount of time without enough prep is Death. You're just really not good enough.

>once i realized my stats weren't high enough to fight a much higher level enemy i stopped playing this rpg in disgust

really makes me think

Its the type of game that's popular enough to have spawned its own board here on Sup Forums, but its not for everyone, if you find it repetitive then its probably just not for you.

>D OS

now theres a disappointing game lads

Seek new allies
when that fails seek new foes

My problems with the game:
>Mage/Sorc combat is charge and release, cool spectacle but holy shit is that boring
>Also, sorcerers have shitty armor variety compared to the other classes.
>95% of loot is consumable items that are never worth using
>I can't tell what some of the augments are without consulting outside sources
>People rented my pawn at level 15 ish or lower and now i'm at 40 and have had one rent since
>So many areas look way too drab. Interiors often have just a crate to smash and then nothing, exteriors are samey all around

I'm enjoying the game but its wearing on me. Just got to make it to the dlc I think.

As much as I enjoyed this game, I really don't like how the game actually handles damage.

The fact that its essentially just Attack - Defense = Damage, flat, made difficulty plateau for me hard. Like, once you finally get that one decent weapon that clears the Defense beefgate by a halfway decent amount, you kind of just steamroll the rest of the game until you enter post game, and then you find a decent bitterblack weapon and you start destroying everything again.

The middle ground between doing absolutely nothing with your attacks and melting things in a few hits felt way too thin, to me, if admittedly in retrospect. For a quasi-action game like this, I think I'd have liked the gear to give you boosts as opposed to being what basically secures your ability to do any damage at all.

The combat is really open ended and you can have a lot of fun with it. The game isn't particularly challenging and becomes quite boring if played in the most efficient way.
People who lack an imagination and don't know how to have fun without instructions will not enjoy this game.

You could gimp yourself and play dress up. Just upgrade your weapons until they're at the desired level. Dragonforging makes even shit weapons mid tier at least.

The game starts after you kill the dragon, fag

AHHHHHH WHY WONT CAPCOM GIVE US DDO

...

This is the biggest flaw in the combat. The window where your level is appropriate is very small. I wish more classes had weapons like dire iraklis.

Really it's just the ability to climb enemies that garnered the most hype. Also magic looks fucking stellar.

>Just got to make it to the dlc I think

You mean BBI? You can visit BBI right after killing the Cyclops when first visiting The Encampment near Cassardis. This is literally minutes into the game.

I've already played this game about as much as I expect to, but going out of my way to make myself weaker to maintain the difficulty curve in the game's stead is something that has never sat well with me, personally, even if it is a perfectly viable option.
Getting overleveled or overgeared, or wandering into an encounter you're underleveled for is obviously going to happen in a game like this, and the latter encounters should very much be uphill battles, but as the other user said, the optimal point where your character is right where he needs to be for the stuff you are doing is generally way too thin, and the drop offs on either side feel too dramatic.

>fight my way getting mercedes to the shadow fort
>die a bunch trying to do it because the path is ass
>finally finish quest and then warp to the capital
>accept monster hunt from wyrm hunter
>"go clear out shadow fort"
>no fast travel point there
this beginning is a fucking slog, i've barely fought any giant beasts and the ones i fight one shot me.
any tips? I'm playing an assassin and my pawn is a fighter. I tend to pick a ranger and a sorcerer for my party

It really fucking pisses me off that the Warrior is so underpowered compared to every other fucking vocation. Why does the slow, (supposedly) strong class always have to be underpowered in these games? There's literally no reason to use them.

>No range, flying enemies are super difficult, some bosses completely impossible to do solo
>Barely any defensive options
>Slow, which wouldn't be an issue if they were strong, but...
>Low DPS compared to other classes
>Only 3 FUCKING SKILL SLOTS WHILST EVERY OTHER CLASS GETS 6 (because fuck you)
>All their shit is heavy

Honestly, the class could be easily made a worthy one if they just made the SMALL FUCKING NUMERICAL CHANGE in the game files (skill slots to 6, increase damage of skills by about 30% or more), but they don't. They just leave them as a gimped class.

Why not fucking make the smallest effort to fix what's broken.

It doesn't help that there's no fucking way to contact the devs of the game (apart from like 2 of them who don't reply to facebook/twitter) or capcom in general about this shit.

If I had a list of the dragons dogma japanese credits, I'd GLADLY go out of my way to mesage all the programmers and ask them about this shit, but I can't fucking find it anywhere.

Anyone happen to know where I can find this shit?

Stock up on Throwblasts because it kills things fast. A shop in Cassardis sells an infinite amount of this.

Dodge-roll your way towards the places you want to go; it doesn't use stamina, not affected by weight, and is much faster than running.

Think of the Warrior as the class most suited for advanced players / players who want a challenge, and as a way to build up your main pawn's Attack stat (they don't have access to the Assassin vocation which gives the highest Attack gains).

It's one of those "it's good if..." games that people here seem to enjoy
>VtMB is a masterpiece.....if you just cheat your way through the sewer part and ignore how shit most of the combat and shooting is and play in a certain way so the bosses don't fuck you up
>Fallout NV is a masterpiece...if you mod it to hell and back
>Dragons Fetch Quest:Dark Escort Mission is a masterpiece... if you only talk about the combat and gimp yourself to keep it interesting

That doesn't cut it for me. If a class was harder to use but rewarding in a different way, as long as it was just as effective, I'd be fine with but, hell, if I wanted a fucking self imposed challenge, I could use personally choose not to use certain skills on other classes. The fact is, I love slow/powerful classes and weapons in games, and the knowledge that the one that exists in this game is complete fucking garbage makes me not even want to touch it with a 10 foot pole.

It's just worse in every regard.

I played NV without mods and it's in my top 10

The game gives you enough resources to improvise/cheese most bosses in the first ~half of the game (I haven't played it further, yet). As an example: you can easily kill the griffon in the tower by running around and spraying him with Strider's splinter/fracture dart, which will set him on fire. As a fighter just block the occasional swoop, collect the powder kegs and oil flasks and then douse him in oil -> throw keg -> repeat. I actually enjoy how I can approach every major fight in my own way.

Do we know if it's just a port or a complete rerelease

>he thinks new vegas is only good with mods
fuck off

I don't think NV is good at all. I was just repeating some bullshit I heard around here to make a point

summer needs to end soon

The Warrior is complete fucking garbage if you don't know how to effectively use it.

Pommel Bash to stunlock foes, then Arc of Deliverance if they're reeling. Corona Slash is for crowd control. If the opponent can be clambered on, do so, then hammer away at the weakspot. Buff yourself with Tagilus' Miracle / Periapts. Now you have a use for the "worthless" consumables.

Arc of Deliverance on a downed Dragon is rewarding as fuck. You're not looking at the Warrior properly. Maybe Magick Archer is more suited for your whiny ass.

>Name ONE game that is more repetitive
Borderlands 2
Warframe
Destiny
Blades of Time
Dark Souls

WOLVES

> Arc of Deliverance on a downed Dragon is rewarding as fuck.
Well, who's gonna down it for you?
Half the time with Arcs you just stand there like an idiot all pumped waiting for your enemy to come into its path. Then you just cancel it, move a different spot and stand again hoping maybe this time they fly into you.

The main game is the tutorial to prepare you for the post game rape at bitterblack.

Warrior is one of the top dps classes in DDO, along with Sorc

a.pomf.cat/hxeywb.webm

Surely you're not this dumb to not know when to use Arc properly.
No one is dumb enough to use Arc on a completely mobile opponent. You either Pommel Bash or hit the weakspot through clamber-attacking until it falls, then Arc.

In some cases, you can stand on a platform low enough that the dragon will stupidly attack you on the ground (and not fly away or spew fire) while you're not taking damage. It will give you enough time to set your Arc up and it actually hits the dragon's face.

Any more opportunities to show how ineffective you are at playing this game?

HUNT

>DDO

what did he mean by this

It hates fire

I haven't really been following this

Is it ever getting a western release?

No.

It also is everything bad about Dragon's Dogma, amplified.

Like having to artificially 'tire' an enemy out by doing an odd rapey 'grope' motion while climbing on them -- like 40 times.

Only then can you actually hurt them.

I can only ever hear this in that little high pitched girls voice because of my loli pawn.
Fuck that sounds awkward to type.

no

Is Iraklis warrior actually good on BBI?

you realize you haven't had to hump monsters to tire them out for ages now right?

Every class has a way to inflict 'break' (removes about 40% of the monsters enrage bar) by beating the fuck out of it such as Sorcerers meteoring them or Seekers Thousand kissing their weak point etc

no one does the tire out humping anymore

>is warrior actually good on BBI

Fuck off nigger

Well, I heard some good things about Iraklis crits.

IN

>the point is you cant just become a mage after playing as a fighter as you claim

You fell for a meme, dumb fag. That's not an issue for anyone but minmaxers unless you play as just one vocation for 80 levels. Play the game however you want and you'll be fine for a normal playthrough.

>no

PACKS

Oh boy, time to reinstall. Maybe it's time to finally level to 200, highest I have gotten was around 150 or something.

This really was a game of highs and lows for me. Things like killing the Drake or my first Griffin or confronting Grigori were an absolute blast, but then I'm wandering a small, uninteresting map killing the same handful of uninteresting enemies, completing quests that I don't care about, following a story that I don't care about. Something amazing happens and then I trudge through junk reaching for that next amazing thing.

What gets me is just thinking of how great a potential sequel could truly be.
