Redpill me on ultrawide monitors
They're shit for gaming
Someone post that ridiculously wide screen set to release later this year.
You buy one so you can whine on reddit about how they're not supported by anything.
Pretty alright.
Notice how those monitors don't actually have gameplay footage running.
It's a terrible meme
My ultrawide is the best monitor Ive ever used. The best upgrade Ive gotten for my PC other than my G27. People meme about it having no support but thats really dependent on what games you play. If you play alot of PC exclusives / games that focus on the PC community, you wont notice any support issues aside from old games. If you play Sup Forums flavor of the month youre gonna have a bad time. Which is why you see so many people shit on ultrawide, they only play AAA blockbusters. Even then the only AAA game I played that didnt have ultrawide support was RE7 and even that had a fix within a week. If youre gonna get one get a 34 inch.
Honest question, do you ever actually look at the edges of your monitor?
Ye get 34 for sure. Now I understand those who say 35 inch ultrawide isn't enough, it could be wee bit taller.
You'll never want to go back.
Fuck everyone who says its bad for gaming. This is only because games aren't designed for it. As long as your monitor has a way to just center gameplay set to 16:9 instead of stretch there is no downside.
Had 2 big screens and found a super cheap wide screen being sold on a website. The guy won it in a CS competition and he didnt need it since he had better ones . I bought it and changed it with 1 of my other ones . The differences:
>I have to move my head to the right more now due to the screen being wide and actually feeling like i dont need another monitor no more
>a lot of games actually support wide from what ive played and usually play
>to be honest, i love seeing more during some games since im able to grasp the situation
>it has speakers ( i use a guitar system with my headphones and amp, but just for shits and giggles i can now use the monitor)
To be honest, theres not rly a downside to it. Its just a wide screen that offers you more vision. Nothing more. No better graphics or like increased fps. You want to see more to the sides ? get a wide screen
Yeah, why wouldn't I? The only game that gives me tunnel vision are racing games and they're supposed to do that. The extra real estate is noticeable in pretty much all games especially ones where you cant change your FOV like TF2.
They're really wide monitors.
Friend has an ultra wide, it looks cool I guess but there's not much compatibility. I went with a big 1440p display instead because it's a much more supported resolution.
>That fake game hud
They are great but most games dont work with it. You can force it in some games but that brings glitches.
I can never go back

You don't belong here, nigger.
this is bait, right?
Yeah, Sup Forums is for people who can only afford one console and dedicate their time to defending their chosen system.
Great for working, and the very small number of games, but pretty crappy for most games, and pretty much all media. It's not even that great for 21:9 movies.
>total time: 2:03.498
>best lap: 3:24.947
Shit for gaming, great for everything else such as music production and graphic/visual work.
If all you do is game just get a regular size monitor with a higher refresh rate and/or resolution as most games don't support ultrawide.
Shit i forgot to put out my weeb dolls, plz accept me.
