>accidentally over grinds
>one-hit KOs everything
>game's not fun anymore
Why Me?
>game going fine
>get to that dungeon with the poison zombie guys
>get absolutely raped by massive difficulty spike
>only option to level is to grind lower level hunts or to glitch kill that monster with the item in sands over and over
DROPPED
>game has leveling
>casually enjoying game
>too difficult midway through because underleveled
>decide to grind out some levels
>rest of the game too easy
There isn't a proper way to utilize leveling mechanics these days because of this.
You either get your shit stomped for being underleveled, or end up too powerful and end up not enjoying the game because of it.
I love going out of my way early/mid game in JRPGs to get fucking overpowered and steamroll everything in my way. I dont't know why. It feeels so good to me. Somebody feeling the same way?
I recently did it in Final Fantasy 8
>Not getting ripped and exploring hard areas early/doing hunts asap
RPG difficulty is just a number's game. The higher number wins. It's as boring as turn-based combat.
You just grind your numbers to be higher than the thing you want to beat.
Disgaea.
If you don't have fun while grinding, then you won't find enjoyment in playing these games.
Playing for the story alone is just sad.
>having trouble with the second last arena fight in Jade Empire
>Fuck it go do lotus fortress
>Get Jade golem
>Never used it before but doing a magic playthrough this time
>Mfw it makes the game piss easy and the only fight that was ever a challenge was the three clones at dirge
Wait, it's out? Fuck.
Oh yea that is why i stopped playing this.
I was grinding like crazy and recovering at a save crystal nearby.
I'm willing to bet half of the games that have this situation also give you a stockpile of items that you've barely touched at that point.
Use the challenge as a chance to get better at the combat and exhaust every option to win.
Love this game can't wait to pick it up
I need to hurry and unlock the NewGame+ where you stay lvl 1 the whole game, that way it'll be a little more exciting
You can beat the game at level 1, and there's even a whole mode that enforces it. So there's no such thing as underleveled.
Don't grind in FF games.
Even flee most of the time.
>accidentally over grinds
>everything one-hit KOs
>game's not fun anymore
This fucking game
I got punished so hard for grinding
Yeah buddy, go and get it
FF8 literally scales level of enemies to your characters.
The fuck are you talking about.
I didn't have time to hype myself up for it, and now I'm on another Warframe binge. If I buy it now, I won't finish it.
Good way of getting your A kicked, Rush.
are you retarded? That only happens in ff8 when you don't fight anything.
The remaster is utter garbage. Just play the original game.
>halfway through the game
>nothing of any significance or interest has happened
Encounter every enemy along the way and you'll be fine
The job system is pretty fun to play around with. The only thing I don't like about it is how the game is easier, but they make up for that by adding a newgame+ were you stay lvl 1 the whole game
I wish this was on the Switch as well.
Are you fucking joking?
Wedding, prince gets killed in a massive battle, king assassinated by trusted knight, princess commits suicide.
That's in the first ten minutes you faggot nigger
Why not make that an option right away, no one wants to replay a whole FF right after finishing it
You can most of the best magic in disc 1. I didn't say you have to grind and level up.
Are you dense?
Why'd you replay the old version recently if you knew you were going to buy this one. Your own fault for making yourself not want to play something you just beat, retard.
But none of those are events that you care about because there's no reason for you to be interested in it yet. It's only important because the game tells you it should be important.
...Are you retarded? I'm talking about the lvl 1 option being ng+ in the new game.
You HAVE to play through it.
Ah, I see. This is the mindset of some of the people who claim this story sucks. Interesting. So, in order for you to care about something going on in a games plot, you need more reason to care first? Hmm, I guess a bustling peaceful city being invaded by an aggressive nation (your characters' homeland) and being overthrown by an evil piece of shit who aims to basically enslave all people in the city isn't enough for you to give a shit about I guess. If that isn't enough, then maybe you should stick to games like Mario Party or something.
I am retarded. I thought you meant something else.
You may be autistic.
