Too old school and hard for normal JRPG players, too easy and short for SaGa fans.
I am the only fan of the game that has memorized the whole game to a guidebook (or fan in general) level extent so ask about any aspect and I'll tell you.

GameStop sells refurbished ones for $140, comes with a charger and a 4GB memory card.

I'm pretty sure they are the $99 ones, and GS instead of selling them, just opened them and are selling them as refurbished since they look like they are brand new.

On your first clear you get new portraits for the characters.
On your second, you get the full SaGa style portraits.

I think gives you access to the rooms in the back of the inn and either it or 8 adds a special event that shows what happened to Coco in the Bottomless pit, if you let him get eaten by the shadow vortex instead of fighting the shadow giants Here's a legit spoiler for it: Coco survived and popped out the other side.
Also, certain items get carried over, the best being the Cherubim's Grasp, the strongest weapon in the game (best used by Bianca). And your money and stances carry over. Otherwise your inventory and stats start over.

Neat, although I am unfortunately a casual and missed Cherubim's Grasp. Probably the main thing to get on my next run along with the green dragon drop. Although in my next team Bianca will probably be the only one who can tank anyway (with her + Eloise and either Liber or frogman). SaGa portraits sound pretty cool so I'll probably get around to it hopefully before TAA gets localized.

I think we'll get it, I mean Atlus localized Caligula and other weebshit with huge scripts. And I don't think the script is super lengthy on TAA either. But it's super under the radar for now, I keep forgetting about it and MH Stories because no one ever mentions them.

I hope you like RPGs. if you do you can grab anything by Atlus or Square and be set for a while. I'd play Etrian Odyssey IV.

the 3DS is running out of upcoming games, sooner rather than later. there will be one more decent price drop and ninty will stop pushing out updates for it, meaning hacking won't have to keep playing this catch-up game
basically what I'm saying is soon $150 will get you a n3DS, a DS flash cart, and a decent-sized SD card. and from there you'll have access to every handheld game ever released on a nintendo console, as well as NES and SNES

Probably a bad idea to go for the Griffith's Ash on only the second playthrough, the Green Dragon is the hardest boss in the game and the staff itself is not even as good as the Infinity Branch, which is much easier to get (alternatively the Cursed Warclub works well).
Cherubims Grasp isn't hard, set up a water shield next time and then activate Fire dominance and nuke him, repeat until you get the drop.
Bianca is the only "prime" user of it as she is the only character that shares both L-Sword and Fire proficiency. Meurs and Bianca are the best characters also.
Anyway I'm just really hoping that TAA gets localized considering how apparently big it is.

sure, miracle mask is the first i played and it's like 4th in the series. of course you get more insight in the story and characters if you play them in release order, but starting with MM is fine too.
i wouldn't advise starting with azran legacy tho. it's too long and it wraps up the series.

The N3DS is a wonderful machine for retro emulation, almost as good as good'ol PSP.

How would one go about washing a DS game case? I bought DQIX at a garage sale for $3 to play on my 3DS and the case is grimy as fuck despite the game being in good condition.
