i know that and i know getting to the top of the screen on fullpower sucks everything towards you.
but my issue is that i suck at streaming and everything moves too fast...
am i just stupid or is there something i can do? i can play GSG and do fine, i can play roguelikes and enjoy them but danmaku games are too much for me

For me the only thing that really helped was practice.

Learn patterns, learn streaming.
Learn micrododging and tapping.
When some fairies throw up a bunch of aimed bullets at you, hold shift and nudge your way across the screen. Practice this along with letting go of focus, diving to the side enough to divert the stream so you can go the other direction.

You have to watch the whole screen. Focusing on the little hitbox basically leaves your dodging to chance.
Rote memorization can do it too, but if you start to pay attention to patterns there is a bizarre kind of consistency to it. Like the bosses fullscreen sheets of bullets frequently establish a pattern at a (sort of) reasonable pace, and then speed up the same base and start adding new streams.
