Give me one good reason why are you not playing the greatest game on PC.
Give me one good reason why are you not playing the greatest game on PC
...
I dont understand people that play any of those simulator games.(except of course goat simulator) Whats the appeal?
I'm not German.
>go through vidya phases
>pick one game and play it to death for maybe a few weeks
>it's ETS2's turn
>don't get into it at first, wonder what the appeal is
>begin listening to O&A, Bill Burr's podcast etc
>play it in the background
>get the levels just right so it sounds like the truck's radio
My shitty taste in radio shows aside, I ended up putting about two months into ETS2. I can't even drive and I didn't achieve much in the game, but driving my truck around became quality chill-out time after work. Even better with a few drinks
what's the appeal of doing something not everyone has access to but maybe would like to try?
man, i dunno, a real head-scratcher. do flight simulators gum up your gears like this, too?
Yes, doing long flights in Microsoft Flight Sim is boring just like doing the actual 24hour marathon races in those racing games.
"i don't enjoy something. why do other people enjoy it?"
this is the brick wall of stupidity
I spent pretty much 180 hours in this game while playing multiplayer with the mod.
This is the only game that has made traffic jams in Calais fun for me, it's incredible.
Oh and it also doesn't have middle eastern hooligans trying to slash my truck tires and opening my cargo unlike in the real world.
can that be added with a mod?
it dosnt have the diversity DLC yet
Yup, it's a mod. Literally just search "ETS2 Multiplayer" on google and download the launcher, then just play through that and you are on your way to play online.
I used to play 18 Wheels of Steel a lot and just exhausted the genre
thanks for that. but i meant, can you add the middle eastern hooligans that live in plastic tents and swarm the highways trying to slash your tires and hang onto your truck?
Now that's a good game.
It was the American Truck Simulator before the AMT was itself.
Sadly, no. I also wanted to drive over them while they try to throw wood and stones at my truck, but I will never fully be immersed anymore.
>except of course goat simulator
I don't understand why people play that game either
It's either for ironic reasons or they have some weird form of comedic taste.
I have been playing ATS instead.
its my go-to game for when Im burned out on vidya
I havent put enough time into it though :(
Careful, because ETS Multiplayer it's basically "Ban for having fun simulator"
Why is ETS2 so much better than ATS? ATS is more detailed and accurate yet ETS2 has some sort of cha thst enthralled me.
The differences is 280 hours in ETS2 and 40 hours of ATS.
This. unless you can follow every rule here 100% of the time, you will be banned.
forum.truckersmp.com
Now this is my kind of autism
jesus christ
Relaxing change of pace. Don't know how anyone could play it for hours every day though.
ATS is smol with big trucks.
ETS2 is big with smol trucks.
I am
I'm unironically excited for Train Sim World coming to console
Shh.. /Sup Forums hates that one. Go to /o/.
Are these bastards ever going to release more states?
Does it? I've never seen a single negative comment about it here.
New Mexico is soon. Its probably going to be years until we have all 48. And EVERY one will be paid DLC.
Might be different now, but before any thread about it was mostly "lel shit fotm game." and "gib guide pls its too hardd!"
T-trucks are hard to do reverse parking with when you got a load user-kun.
>48 states at $20 a pop
I guess I'll pay nearly $1000 to drive a virtual truck.
Just turn the wrong way and then the right way. Its simple.
There were some good threads for it for awhile. It got pushed to /vg/ eventually.
No they fucking aren't.
Literaly bothing wrong with anything on this list. There is a viable SP mode for you losers that can not follow the MP rules.
I used a guide too, I have no idea how to build an engine
Don't forget about autistic "truckers" that will record and report you for breaking their immersion.
Is there a MOD or they already included 'truck of peace' for french freight routes?
I know how to drive a real car but driving a truck with heavy load was quite hard to me. The real hell started when the load got unattached to your truck and you had to reattach it.
It will probably be cheaper, maybe $5-7 per state. The ETS2 addons are expensive because they are pretty big.
Then again, there isnt shit in Scandinavia and that one was $18. I guess wait for it to all go to sale like i did last year. SCS usually has good discounts during the summer sale.
Iowa in American Truck Simulator WHEN?
Also the general is on /o/
we need a Sup Forums CB radio chat
I keep getting moving violations.
More like CBan radio
I literally got casual filtered by the first area in the game. I couldn't figure out how to orient myself to get out of the starting location and gave up
I don't have a driving wheel. But I'd like to get one.
I'm there talking about booze
I just purchased this game since it's aparently 75 % off on steam... I will be playing with a ps3 controller for a while, but what would be the ideal setup ?
I've been thinking of picking up drunk Finland simulator, it looks fun. Is it worth getting, or should I wait for more updates. Does it have a good modding community?
a wheel
buy RRRRRRRRRRIGHT now.
I would enjoy this game a lot more with a wheel, but I dont know if I would get $100 (for a cheap wheel) of enjoyment out of it.
Get it. Updates are solid. As for mods, they are all on here.
racedepartment.com
Used Logitech gtdf. Its over $100, but wheels are fucking expensive. If you NEED a sun $100 wheel, i got recommend the logitech momo. No idea if it was a troll answer or if it is actually good though.
its not the price so much as I don't know if I will use it for anything but ETS 2. If I can find like 1 more game that I think I could use it for then I could justify a decent wheel.
>BeamNG
>My Summer Car
>DiRT series
>Spintires
>Any racing game ever
>racesim autism
I prefer flight sims although I do play ETS2 occasionally when I'm in the mood.
Lots of reasons. They can be relaxing or challenging, they can teach you something and they can be very satisfying when you achieve something new or difficult.
yuropoor trucks drive like shit.
Does ATS drive any better? The driving physics (or lack thereof) have always been the biggest turnoff for me in ETS2.
But I've already lost control of my life.
>Just bought a DFGT cheap
>mfw trying DIRT rally with it
fuck me how do you guys gitgud at that shit?
Lots of practice helps I'd imagine.
Is there a VR option? VR would be tops in this game.
>still no Aussie truck sim
>Tfw you'll never drive a road train across the harsh Aussie dessert, sleep on the road and get drunk in pubs
...
ats is a bit more fun because the truck feel faster
>drive in a straight line for 14 hours
Sounds pretty boring tbqh
From the catalog I thought this was called "Fart Truck".
Which SP mode?
Practice and a good understanding of the physics of cars
