Wanna give the first Witcher a second try, cause I would like to see what all the fuss is about the 2nd and 3rd games, but i tried last year and it felt kind've bleh by the end of the prologue area.
Any tips to help me out? Mods that might improve the gameplay? Nothing imbalanced, just little quality of life stuff.

My only advice is, stop playing it. No idea how far I was (my last main story mission was helping with the logistic for a weeding in a small town), but I just couldn't bear it anymore so I dropped it without second thoughts.
The Witcher 1 is a horrible, boring game. If you aren't enjoying it just don't bother with it, no matters how much Sup Forums tries to convince you.

The Witcher really is an amazing casual filter, right up there with Morrowind.
You probably haven't read the books either... reading is such a drag.

Read up on the combat rebalanced mod, but you don't need it. I really liled the first Witcher game. Great atmosphere, great characters and a decent story. Don't get discouraged by the swamp part. I thought it wasn't all that bad. Don't expect a Witcher 3. The first game has different qualities.

There's a mod that changes the combat, but it's best played vanilla imo.
It's a bit of a slow-burning game.

>only plays prologue >doesnt enjoy game
Jesus user, please never play a game again if this is how you judge them.
Games very mediocre btw, just go ahead and play 2 and 3 which are far superior
Zachary Peterson
Just play Gothic 1/2 instead. Much, much, MUCH better games.

>witcher books >worth reading
Joshua Morales
1 is far better than 2 though.
They are no masterpieces, but quite enjoyable if you like the world, characters and lore.

Witcher 1 has shit combat but a nice story. I got used to it after the first 8 or so hours, clicking to kill things became like a rhythm game. Also, despite the story being nice it doesn't follow the book that closely, according to my friend to has read them all.
The first one has an incredible atmosphere. Better than all of them
Nathaniel Brown
It doesnt follow any books at all the games take place after the novels
Hudson Brooks
>defend plagiarized children's novels lol

The Witcher worship is the most telling proof of how Sup Forums isn't any different to the people eating everything Bethesda and Bioware release. It's the same no gameplay talking heads walking simulator just based on a russian book instead of an american script.
Nicholas Adams
You don't need to play 1 or 2 to play 3. You can literally just spend 30 minutes reading up on the story and then jump into 3.
Caleb Bennett
The prologue is literally the swamp. The shit is like 3 hours of a game. If 3 hours in, it isn't getting fun? Its not worth it. Especially considering how short 1 is versus 2 and 3.
Noah Long
just max the fire sign and blast everyone, the game is still not good but the ending is mildly interesting
Carson Williams
I never defended anythimg. But I highly doubt you read anything so your views on whats worth reading are worthless

>DUDE! YOU CAN JUST PLAY WITCHER 3 WITHOUT READING THE BOOK OR SPEDING 1000 HOURS ON WITCHER 1 AND 2!! SO AMAZING!
>W3 its full of " hey remember in Witcher 2.. hey wassup bro long time without see "
fucking kill yourself for recommending me this peice of shit
Ethan Russell
I honestly don't know why people who don't like TW1 like the series at all. Either you dig the world or you don't; it's not like anyone plays these things for the gameplay.
Easton Watson
The problem is, i really do like the world and the lore. It's just that the gameplay is atrocious. It's like... NWN2 at launch bad.
Nolan Murphy
The Witcher 1 is a narrative mirror of the Witcher 3
Also, max igni, just, max igni

Who the fuck says this. No one here would say this.
