It really was.
I don't usually play Trainer type games but for some reason I really enjoy it.

Its upsetting when you have to start a new over some fuck up the game stats don't show.

I remember having to read gamefaq guides as a kid to get through.

I don't remember reading guides on how to train, but I did find out about the way to get infinite money through trading.
Also how doing that could get you stuck so don't forget to bring a teleport.

I distinctly remember some tiredness levels that were never mentioned when you train or do battles.

Ah yeah, Tiredness was only ever displayed as a sweat mark over the digimons head, and if you were actually seeing it it was a care mistake.
Meanwhile my brother got upset at the game because he couldn't stop getting Phoenixmon.

I've seen some pretty good speed runs of people cheesing with Phoenixmon.

Never, not even the new stuff can really capture the design style.

I really enjoyed how there were circuit and electric components and make shift cardboard box buildings every where. It was like if it was something else I can't put my finger on it.
