Nu from BlazBlue. She's pretty crazy and obsessive.

She's a clone of the main characters sister, and was locked in an alternate dimension. Her memories of the MC were all she had so she fell in love with him and wants to be with him. But she's programmed to kill him and fuse with him to become a world ending magic monstrosity. As you'd imagine this results in some hardcore yandere most of the time (though when she can just talk to him normally which happens like once she says she just wants to be with him).

The series does not end well for her. MC ends up deleting himself from existence to save his actual original sister, and since Nu basically only had memories of MC and orders to kill him, him suddenly being erased from the timeline entirely left her in a catatonic state..

Those two are my favourite vidya couple easily. But maybe I'm just a big sucker for the older female/younger male thing. That and Milla is perfect.

I got really invested in her over the years and was hoping for closure (not even necessarily a happy ending, just some sort of closure) so when basically everyone on the cast except her got some sort of closure and she just got that, it hurt. Like really bad. It still does.

Well, if I ever learned something about fighting games is that when it inevitably receives a sequel in the future, everything will go right back to the status quo. Which might or not be just as depressing.

I don't think BlazBlue will go exactly back to the status quo, since they made a point of Ragna's arc being over. BBs story is pretty huge so I think they'll stick to that to some degree. Though I'm not saying they can't find some contrivance to make him playable, of course. I imagine they will.

Yeah, that was a real bummer. I sort of figured her story was going that way, to some extent it's hard to see how it could have gone well for her given her creation and setup, but I still hoped for otherwise.

They don't need any contrivance, they can just flat out make him playable simple as that. Just look at Guilty Gear, Justice and Kliff are both dead for most/all of the series, but have still been included as options in the roster. They just don't get full campaigns in the main mode is all. Ragna can be just like that, he just becomes a bonus character, maybe give him a few 100% standalone stories sometimes more along "tales about his past" or similar. They don't have to mess with the main story progression in any way for that, or for anyone else, which gives them a certain amount of freedom in actually moving the status quo. They've done that for GG and I see no reason they can't do that for BB.
