In relevance to aesthetics, no, they don't need much. They don't need to look like futuristic props on a Sci-Fi movie set. Most people would be happy to have a sleek, minimalist design, that isn't intrusive nor does it look out of place on their television stands next to an Apple TV or Roku device. Microsoft was able to do something like this with both the Xbox One S and Xbox One X, but a few overall changes could be made to absolutely nail it.
