I ended up liking Velvet. She was a nice contrast to Sorey, and I can handle edgy characters when they actually have a good reason to be pissed off.

Being able to play off of well characterized allies really helps her though.

Up until the tragedy with Oscar & Teresa, the main thing keeping her head straight was fucking up Artorius. Teresa's reaction to what happened to Oscar forced her to flashback to Laphicet's death which wrecked whatever grasp on sanity she had left.

I think what made Berseria's cast work was that many of them were multi-layered and ambiguous in morality. Even Eleanor had the hook of becoming disillusioned with the Abbey despite being a goody two shoes.

Velvet is actually one of my least favorite characters. Eizen is my favorite. After that comes Laphicet CUTE! and Magilou. I'm actually surprised I ended up liking Eleanor. Rokurou is still my man, I just wish he was more relevant but oh well.
