Why does Sup Forums pretend e-celebs help sell copies of games?

Why does Sup Forums pretend e-celebs help sell copies of games?

Just stay in the Get Even thread nerd.

People who watch e-celebs are largely under 14 years old. They don't have any money to spend on this garbage.

JEWS

this. plus they are the generation that derives more pleasure from watching other people play games than playing them themselves

So are Americans raising a generation of cucks?

>let me use a fucking horror game, a genre that noone plays anymore besides youtubers to get views out of "wow so scary" reactions as an example

You know people play horror games right?

Amnesia: The Dark Descent has sold over 3 million copies

and it's a shit game

I'm saying people play horror games, dumbass

I'm not the same guy faggot, but one game doesn't represent the genre as a whole.

They do help sometimes. I work on localization, and one game I was on that was heavily featured by ironic-weeb Youtuber sold much more than our other stuff.

...

>make a small """""horror"""" indie game
>jumpscares out of the ass for two hours
>pewdiepie and uma delicia plays it, both of them get 10 million views on their videos covering the game
>now that they have shown all of the jumpscares in the game people have no interest in playing the game ABOUT JUMPSCARES

if anything, this image shows how retards screaming at video games can kill indie games

Probably why Scott Cawthon realized FNAF was drying up and canned further sequels.

...

...are there people who thought the answer was different than 217341? I barely passed math in high school and I could tell the answer at first glance...

What about all those other games that were fotm on twitch and saw an explosion in sales like Fnaf or Pubg

IIRC SK Estival Versus jumped up from 10,000 to like 25,000 owners right after Pewdiepie played it.

>facecam screamer game
Holy shit you could not have shot yourself in the foot any harder

When cod was the most popular game with normies did you say it was only popular because of youtube?

But free advertising!

>Why does Sup Forums pretend e-celebs help sell copies of games?
Because they do.

>People who watch e-celebs are largely under 14 years old. They don't have any money to spend on this garbage.
This is untrue.

No, but I'm sure Youtube highlights had some positive impact on sales

>third world mestizos
>southeast asians
>having money
Nice.

>Americans
Ah yes, that OP image is full of Americans you fucking blind retard.

Then why say it about something about PUBG?

The only games which are truly sold by streamers are "horror" and easy to run. PUBG is just streamed because it's incredibly popular, same reason cod used to be the most streamed game.

it just depends whether the game is fun to watch or fun to play

Because
1. The majority of people on Youtube are children with no disposable income, so they were never even plausible sales to begin with
2. Most of the jumpscare type facecam shit are either cheap gimmicky garbage, or can be experienced simply by watching someone else, so it's not like anyone would want to buy that shit even if they saw footage of it
