Probably the best character introduced so far in terms of gameplay, Hugo mains are creaming themselves right now. Which ultimately means he's probably going to be underplayed in a month right next to Birdie, Dhalim, and FANG. Let's hope someone takes him to tourneys, Kolin and Ed already had a surprising number of turn-ups this EVO despite their short release time.

He does. Half his moves got armor and he's not your basic giant grappler, but have 1100 health. Litteral top 8 evo tier material.

doubt it, being a big body means your cursed with character specific combos and even with armor you're going to have really bad matchups against zoners.

There's more negative aspects to him then him just being ugly. You can make ugly characters done right. Akuma is physically ugly, but his design is good. Abigail is physically ugly and also has a terrible design.

I'm just repeating myself at this point, but he's grown on me. Outside of some weird animations, like his command dash, he looks like he could be a lot of fun, and a great trolling character. And to be honest, he seems to have a shit ton more personality than Ed did.

Akuma is "ugly" but aesthetically pleasing. Abigail is ugly and aesthetically dospleasing.

You are confusing aesthetic pleasure with good design. Not every design is meant to make you think a character is cool.

I honestly don't see anything wrong with him. In motion he looks good, it is an interesting pick: obscure Final Fight character and serves an interesting niche in the game. The EXs, special attacks, and Critical Art looks interesting. Yes he looks roided out of his mind, but that is what the character archetypes is. Chun Li also had roided thighs, and whenever she walks around in Story Mode casually she is janky as fuck but everyone seemed to love her character model in SFV.

Maybe I'm biased because I live couple of miles off the Canadian border, but those rural Canucks are funny and Abigail kinda fit the stereotype
