aaand that's all it is. KH's combat is always a flashy, boring mess of mashing buttons. KH2's combat is better and that's not saying much.
Other than that and way better boss mechanics, KH2 isn't better by any other way.

KH1 gameplay-wise encouraged observation and understanding of enemy attack patterns as well as smart movement via dodge roll. The story was simpler but stayed mostly true to it's Disney and Square roots.
KH2 simplified combat by adding the drive system and reaction commands while also overcomplicating the story with original characters and nonsensical themes

why are u pretending you couldnt avoid everything in kh1 with strike raid and mp was basically infinite in that game, thats the opposite of encouraging dodging
kh2 encourages dodging more because enemies are faster and deal more damage and you cant heal forever because of mp revamp
and data org fights make kh1 bosses look like a joke
