Japan has a weird thing about age, if you're over 25 you're basically a senior citizen dead to the world. Look at their media, so much set in high school because 15 to 20 are the best years of their lives in their minds. So of course they want to fuck the ideal of that.

This may blow your mind. But the way a girl dresses and acts does influence your perception of their age. If a 26 year old woman walks into a bar dressed in a school uniform and acting super genki, many men will think she is a ditzy teenager who got lost.

And some women can still look very young even after their high school years. Other women can look older than their age while in high school. But generally speaking, a girl reaches her average height and dimensions somewhere in her teens. So there wouldn't be a drastic change in how an artist would draw them if they are only 5-7 years older. Unlike say between age 5-12 where a girl grows twice as tall and their body starts to match the proportion of her head.

This is why artists have to define a character based on things such as dress, hair style or personality to define the character. It isn't until around age 35-40 that artists really need to change a woman by adding bags under the eyes, wrinkles or sagging breasts. And even then, anime follows the lead of all media. Girls in Hollywood hide their age behind makeup and cosmetic surgery. Anime artists do the same thing, drawing slightly older women without the features people commonly consider negative.

Same argument. If you want your kids to just be able to farm, i.e. substance living then yes this is a valid strategy. But if you want your kids to be able to integrate and contribute to society at large then this isn't the best strategy.

At some point in the last 20 years, Japan lost 85% of their interest in adult women.

I think that has more to do with their demographics that they are aiming at than a general perception people have.

It's because lifespans back then were shorter compared to now. I could understand a teenager expecting to marry and have a child when you could die when you're middle aged. It's harder to justify that now thanks to stronger medicine and affordable health care which resulted in increased lifespans for both genders (women on average live longer than men).

With that said I have nothing people against having children during their adolescent years (provided it's legal) but with more time to enjoy on this earth I'd say it's better for a women to consider having a child in her 20s regardless if she has a job or not. Unless you live in a rural enviroment it would be hard for an extended family to participate in the rearing of a child in a modern, urban location.
