hate the boost gameplay, the classic is much worse than mania, and the customer character gameplay literally looks like Shadow the Hedgehog gameplay

unleashed was a lot better looking and its 10 years older. and when it didn't have a name there was that one teaser I was more hyped now sega are just acting like retards with their design

why does Unleashed still look so good? It has some of the best lighting of any game, still to do this day.

Absolute garbage, and so is mania. Sonic died after Adventure 2.

The models they used for Unleashed had too many polygons and made the last gen consoles shit bricks. So they had to tone it down for Sonic Generations.
Having downloaded a copy of the model myself i can say that they could have used to make some kind of animated movie.

Why the fuck? Is this really Sonic's repertoire of villains/rivals? Metal Sonic's design is iconic as hell and he's hands down the coolest Sonic rival but he has absolutely not prevalence in the modern games to the best of my knowledge. Why is he here? Would Mephiles take away from Infinite since they're basically the same character? It just looks weird, especially since I can't even consider classic Sonic and modern Sonic to be the same character. Doesn't even look like Sega can anymore for that matter since they are now appearing together for the second time side-by-side.

Yeah however what is great about the unleashed and generations is the Hedgehog engine. Just the mere fact that it can load gigantic stages and have them render at such speed with someone going full speed is amazing.(Remember that the PS3 and Xbox360 are not fast machines in any way and do not have much ram)
Forces will use a new version of the hedgehog engine. I hope it is good because that will give tons of modding capabilities.

It's literally Hedgehog Engine 2, which indicates they made enough improvements to the original to suffice it being called a different name. All it affects is graphics and level loading. Level design and all that jazz is another probelm altogether.
