sorry bro. I hit pause

Hello Dead Space. Still nice though.

>music gets more upbeat as you progress in a level

>game has world map with different levels
>each next level adds to the base theme

>defeat boss
>generic boss music stops
>turns out boss has second form
>unique boss theme starts playing

>boss music starts to play during a cutscene

>the music changes beat depending on where you are in the stage

>beat game
>credits start rolling
>main menu theme plays

>3rd form
>intense version of the title theme starts

>Music never stops

I hate this in Elder of Scrolls games

>battle music is better than ambient music
>purposely keep a fight going to listen too it longer

>Music changes if you go under water seemlessly

>Impoortant moment in the story
>HYPE version of another song starts playing

>music fades out when it ends instead of looping

>Music gets more instruments and adds vocals the further you progress

>Get to the final boss
>Short boss intro cinematic with spooky music
>Music stops for a second
>Hype final boss theme starts as your menu prompt comes up
>TURN 1

>Silent Hill

>intense battle music blaring
>you aren't in a fight
>you are sitting in a bush undetected
>closest thing is some orcs a few feet away chasing down slaves
Fucking Shadow of Mordor shut up!

>While climbing ladder.

I don't enjoy video games anymore.
I don't enjoy anything.

FE 7 ost Is so good.

>as more shit happens on screen music builds
>at critical mass it's like an onslaught of sound
>jarringly it just stops
>the screen flashes white
>NOW THE REAL BATTLE BEGINS

youtube.com/watch?v=iRA82xLsb_w

>"WHO'S THAT HANDSOME DEVIL?"

>music changes intensity/adds layers depending on if you're in a menu or not
Lookin at you, Endless games, you're sexy as fuck

>Music doesn't stop

>In the school
>Music stops
>You only hear your footsteps in the dark
Amazing game

> mfw the music stops

God this shit is annoying

Why can't we have a horror game with nothing else than ambience & monster sounds?

Amnesia was so close but then even that game had stupid chase music

>hide in closet
>music plays
>you think this means the monster is still around
>stay in closet
>two minutes later
>music still playing
>fuck it
>Leave the closet
>monster was never there, only the music was
>mfw

>the vocals kick in when you go into maximum power mode
>this works for every single piece of music in the game
>some of the enemies have the same ability and their themes have vocals
>if you use it during a fight with them garbled super fast vocals are added over their theme

>monster spots you
>eeeeeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEeeEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

>music doesn't stop

game?

>Music stops and never starts again
>Google it
>I dont know it works perfectly in my system ;)

Give me this game user

Fucking Resident Evil 3, whenever this happened the game played with me expecting Nemesis to appear out of fucking nowhere.

>the music starts to play backwards

>Playing Travis
>First other world
>Music stops once in while
>No problem
>Music stops this time
>Intense fear
>Couldn't even move the stick
>Never finished origins

>Blinding light fills the screen
>The sky turns completely black
>Final boss towers directly over you

>it happens at the very end of a trilogy
>afterwards, the battle theme from the first game in the series starts playing

>music stops
>LOUD banging in the distance
>lights flickering
>dead silence

youtube.com/watch?v=4WA0gZD9J4k

>crypt of the necrodancer
>each of the main characters has their own music style with remixes of each of the songs
>each one is pretty great for its own reasons
>get a mod that combines all three together simultaneously during gameplay
>mfw

When done right, this shit fucking horrifies me.

>Team fight
>Epic Music
>Fight over
>It doesn't stop

Seriously Valve, this has been happening on and off for 3 years. Just fix it for good.

Fucking Dead Space did it way too hard and it didnt need to, if ever you get the chance and decide to play it again, turn the music off, the sound design is fucking incredible, but the obnoxious shrill that plays when you enter combat is awful and ruins th tension
>without music
>all you can hear is the hum of machines
>theres a sound like something running through a vent
>then it stops
>look around, cant find anything
>enemy had already exited the vent out of sight and is running at you, can hear all the breaking bones and squelching sounds as it runs
vs
>as soon as the enemy leaves the vent the VEEE VEEE VEEEE shit starts playing before youve even seen theres an enemy, it basically just tells you that there is an enemy
>cant hear a fucking thing over the single cord being played

>something behind you in refletion
>turn around, nobody there
>turn back to reflection
>*insert pewdiepie/markiplier screech*

>you think the battle is over
>radio comes on
>
>the best track begins for the final fight

>happy optimistic music gets quieter
>grim foreboding music gets louder

>game starts off in a helicopter
>it aint me starts playing

>Computer is muted
>music starts
>computer is still muted

>Amnesia
>Good

Drakengard 3

You have an ability called Intoner Mode where if you've beaten enough enemies it basically lets you go fucking crazy, your attacks home, they do a ton of damage and you combo by just mashing. Most tracks in the game play without vocals and then if you use Intoner Mode, the vocals come on for until it runs out.

youtube.com/watch?v=_M6mWFVd0pU
youtube.com/watch?v=SmEnf19yrew

The tracks with vocals as standard are typically fights with other Intoners and that's when your Intoner Mode will add garbled high speed vocals.

>the music slows down
youtube.com/watch?v=XWkGGda7hX8

>high pitched while coming out of speakers
>quit all games
>sound doesnt stop
>log off
>sound doesnt stop

>In dialogue with NPC when there is a sudden dark revelation
>Peaceful music changes into creepy ambience that keeps playing in the overworld after you exit the dialogue

>meet protag from first game
>you fight him
>the regular battle music from the first game plays

It was.

We need more horror games where you can't fight back and your only options are to hide or run

>Music suddenly plays
>Can't find enemy

Its going to be level 6000 reward for the next battlepass only $20

>music dynamically shifts flawlessly with the on screen action including chiptune versions
If this doesn't win soundtrack or sound design of the year minimum, I'ma be pissed

>about to challenge boss
>the music becomes stuck on one note
>you think the game froze
>it's actually the intro to the boss's battle theme

Also loosely connected to automata and nier

No, we need horror games that make you have to mostly run away. Having the option to defend yourself is essential to horror because otherwise you know all your options involve avoiding conflict. Playing Resident Evil while having to quickly decide how to use your resources was far more memorable and scary than waiting for the jump scare monsters to disappear in Amnesia.

>Get yourself killed on purpose
>Force monster despawn

Wew

>fire up batman NES
>intro music plays while nothing is moving in screen
>think game is frozen
>take out cart, blow in it and try again
>same thing happens
>see what happens if i just let it go
>game starts
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW

Most of the soundtrack is just remixes of Nier's OST so there's really no chance it'll win.

>Final boss theme is all of the character themes in one song

What are some games that do this?

>final boss is the incarnation of everyones negativity

Those goddamn frogs know some presentation

They use like four main character themes and there are like 50 tracks on the OST, what are you on about?

WHEN I WAS

Nier Automata.

>performing a certain button combination activates a hidden music track
youtube.com/watch?v=Vn6umZ1EsQ4

>kill final boss
>unique victory jingle plays

>music accidentally times with buildup and final attack/something powerful

>Playing Wadanohara and the Great Blue Sea.
>Listening to album
>Sound on Wadda goes off
>Game has been progressive getting gorier so I keep expecting a jumpscare or some Silent Hill sorta scream out of nowhere
>Plot is getting serious
>Go to next screen
>This song starts: youtube.com/watch?v=qvDesFdOdF8
>I fucking scream and nearly have a panic attack
>Trembling for an hour after

That fucked me up so much, put me off playing games like that forever.

>Music stops
>Game crashes

youtube.com/watch?v=AzdNqDHpNWo

>enter claustrophobic environment
>nothing in sight
>combat music starts playing

Can only think of Gradius.
