yeah, my main lights are a bit overkill so i been using lamps instead when i plan to be down in the basement for longer periods of time.

Alright my dude, I live in Texas, but lived most my life in Oklahoma. I would never put my vidya in a basement. I like the idea, but they aren't normally built to be a normal room, at least in Ok.

my basement was a completely open space with a nice concrete floor, i tossed up some curtains as makeshift walls and paid to have some electrical outlets added.
